Let us keep the faith.
No rain in West Texas. Our water reservoirs are 6%, 15.4%, and 2%, which is scary. the pipe line from the Winkler County water fields will not be in operation until next Summer 2013. We are in serious water rationing. It will take a miracle from God to have the reservoirs last long enough for the pipeline to be operational.
Many are getting water wells drilled in their yard, which is good ... only there is a limited amount of water in the ground and with many, many using it and it not having recharging source, ... only God knows how long they will last..
Prayers have been going up for a generous rain for almost two years. Scary. Our son lives in Jacksonville Beach, Florida and they have have major flooding there. A stalled hurricane (Debby).
We are on the edge of a desert, but the usual rain is 12 to 14 inches a year. We had less than one inch all of last year and one short lived shower this April. Less than 1/2 inch. Everything is burning up and many many trees dying. Sad! If it continues no one will want to live here. Property values will plummet.
How are things with you?
God bless us everyone!
Geo, we are facing a drought in the high desert of AZ, too! Trees are dying in our forests, and dry lightening threatens us with fire.
I lived in Midland for many years, and it was always very dry. Prayers for your situation will continue.
We were blessed with rains earlier this year and are ahead on rainfall this year..I pray your drought ends, too..Of course these 100 degree plus days are leaving us parched..
We’re “cooling” down to the high nineties for a few days.
;o)
I Join my Prayers with yours, Dear Geologist, that a Good Rain will Fall in your Area Soon,
And that the Drought will Break.
