If ONLY sickness didn't afflict the righteous, and only good things happened to good people, and those with love and faith didn't have children with cancer or other defects. But the universe just doesn't seem to work out that way.
Some people need to read about Job and give up their delusions that personal health is a sign of righteousness and sickness is a sign of sin.

There is nothing wrong with trying to help people deal with stress (especially patients suffering with disease) or in helping people find salvation or find the Lord. I am all for these things.

But it is you who are blind and not me in that you do not see how your ‘root cause’ argument is wrong and also hateful. To tell a child or anyone that their cancer is their fault because they are an angry hateful person or because they do not have real salvation is absolutely horrible and mean spirited. It is sick and cruel. It is unbeleivable to me that you can sit their and defend telling a child suffering from a fatal disease such things. It is you who are blind to your own hateful behavior.

And I did not say that the kids are hateful...but if you read my other reply, there are emotional issues going on there, often through the mom...or dad. Painful and difficult to see that, but it is true.

No, I think there are real problem with the parents of young kids who get cancer, often. And if they end up dying, they will still be with God because they were so young and were not able to understand.
You are reacting emotional here and not really considering anything I have exposed.
This certainly makes life EASIER to live (many peoples lives are domineered by bullying, angry spirits that they have internalized) but it isn’t any guarantee of transforming this present cursed world into instant Eden II (in fact not even Jesus Christ bothered). The good thing is that people are being urged to get right with God. The bad thing is that too much is being claimed for that in this present world, and when newcomers fail they are tempted to give up on God as so much hooey.
Well, with a good intent, there is no failure. God is waiting in our conscience and is very powerful.

I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. Left alone, no matter how spiritually perfect, I would die of either the subsequent chamber enlargement & wall thickening causing congestive heart failure, or of valve calcification blocking the beat signal. Two surgeries and electromechanical implants later, I’m fine until either the valve breaks or the wiring dislodges.
Kindly explain how spirituality would have resolved the problem of a hydraulically overloaded heart.

I had a Born_Again friend that claime dhis wife’s thyroid issue was because she was not a “believer”. When she went to the doc and received medical treatment he claime dshe had sinned and demanded “penance”. She told him to piss off and she continued to take the meds prescribed. She got better. Her response to him was that either the devil had won over God and allowed her to be better by taking the meds or else God allowed her to use the meds. He didn’t have an answer. They never do.
