Olympian Lolo Jones is one of the best hurdlers in the world. She's athletic, she's attractive, she's fit ... and as she recently stated on Twitter, she's a virgin. The 29-year-old Jones, who has won gold medals at the World Indoor Championships twice, but is still searching for her first Olympic gold medal, openly discussed her virginity on HBO's "Real Sports," in an episode that airs on Tuesday night.
"It's just something, a gift I want to give to my husband," she told Mary Carillo. "But please understand: This journey has been hard. It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Harder than training for the Olympics, harder than graduating from college.
"I've been tempted. I've had guys tell me 'If you have sex it will help you run faster.' I was like 'I do want this gold medal, but not yet. I do want to be married.'" Jones says she's turned to Twitter to fulfill her dating life, which is always a risky proposition.
"I'm waiting for the day where somebody totally tricks me with their Twitter picture ... they're using like an Abercrombie model, I show up on the date and it's like somebody from 'The Biggest Loser.'"
Yes, that means if you follow Lolo on Twitter (@lolojones), you might actually have a chance to date her.
Let's just hope her Twitter dates have turned out better than Chad Ochocinco's.
Spot on post.
You are; just not the same judgement that I am.
Yes I am making a judgment about her character based on years of behavior.
From what I have read of your comments; you are judging her entire character by one questionable photo.
Well, I gotta tell ya, I wouldn’t have clicked on this if the title had been Lolo Jones Training for Olympics!
It's possible that a young lady who poses naked for a magazine cover isn't an attention whore, I guess.
Looks like Carrie Fisher before she became an ugly, bitter old broad.
Amen brother
LOL! I'm just teasin' ya, but you have to admit, you are not going against stereotype there!
Plus, she has no breasts, and her body looks like she hasn't had a period in 5 yrs.
I’ll die a lonely cat lady. It’s inevitable.
*chuckle* I’ve already given up.
I should just reconcile myself to the fact that I’ll most likely die alone.
I HIGHLY doubt I will find a man who doesn’t want to wait and be patient. It’ll be sex or a BJ. And when I’m not willing to do either because I don’t know him he’ll be gone.
It’s the truth. I’d be an idiot if I believed otherwise.
I always hear about how wonderful sex is when it’s with someone you love. I don’t see myself getting married so I’m screwed in that department.
Oh,well. I’d better get used to being alone ‘cause I know as sure as I’m sitting here that I’m not going to find the man of my dreams.
And where do I find that man?
No one wants a virgin anymore.
At least my cat won’t betray me.
If you love the Lord Jesus Christ and KNOW what HE values and you take those values as your own, then this whole VIRGINITY issue becomes precious. For those of us who waited upon the Lord, said “NO” to the pleasures of the moment, are not disappointed - 27 years laters I celebrate our wedding to a man who waited as I did until our wedding night 5-25-85 to enjoy the intimacies of sex. We have a very good sex life and great marriage...Oh, and having shown by our life how important it matters, our 2 grown children at 25 and 22 both are still virgins. Seeing those values that GOD loves and cherishing them because HE cherishes purity and chastity are WHY YOU WAIT!!!! Many here won’t get this concept because you are not in a personal and intimate relationship with HIM who created sex in the first place!
Have you tried a local church, or the FR singles thread?
Cheers!
I’m Jewish;Jesus doesn’t figure in anywhere.
I don’t go to church.
So as long as she has plastic bags inserted into her body she would meet your criteria. Noted.
