TORONTO Its the prime minister as youve never seen him before.
A painting by Kingston, Ont.,-based artist Margaret Sutherland depicting Stephen Harper in the nude is creating a stir.
Emperor Haute Couture shows the prime minister reclining on a chaise lounge wearing nothing but a subtle smile.
He is surrounded by people in suits, whose faces cant be seen. A dog rests at his feet as a woman in business attire offers him a Tim Hortons cup on a silver platter.
The painting currently graces a wall at the Kingston public library as part of an art competition that runs until the end of the month.
Chief Librarian Patricia Enright says some people think the piece is disrespectful while others like that it is on display.
The oil on canvas was first displayed last fall at Torontos Edward Day Gallery, which represents Sutherland.

Ridiculous! Liberals are so mean-spirited.
An “emperor has no clothes” painting of Obama would be a hate crime. The black panthers would probably put out a contract on the artist.
Ugh...Don’t let ANYBODY Post the picture! EEK!
The PM has VERY LITTLE to hide.....
Why would it be controversial? The Canadian is busy funding a pornographic sex exhibit for children to be bussed to for school field trips. Why would this top that?
at first I read the title as “Stephen Hawking”
oops
Wow, that is one hugeass Bullet hole! I bet that hurt!
Liberals.
Let me guess...the “artist” in question doesn’t have a very high regard for Mr Harper?
You got that right but hey they did a porno of Palin so this is now standard MO for the left.
Some people have no couth, period.
a painting like that of obozo would be out right obscene.
