It wasn't quite raining cats and dogs in Los Banos, but Elaine Bouschard and her grandson, Taylor Callaway, say it was a miracle when they saw this tiny dog fall from the sky. Callaway explained, All of a sudden I saw this little puppy laying there, he was almost dead.
Right here is where Taylor started yelling that he saw the puppy. I looked up and the hawk was just flying right here, circling around and at that point, we all just went to the puppy, added Bouschard. Digital Daily subscribe to our daily newsletter They did what many would do. They picked it up, and kept it.
My thought is that when god drops a puppy from the sky, you keep it, expressed Bouschard.
She thinks the hawk may have grabbed the puppy from a junkyard because he was greasy when they found him. If you look here, there's three little clutch marks, right here and when he hit the ground he bounced, she explained.
She plans to add the miracle puppy to her mix of cats, dogs, horses and yes, she even owns a couple of hawks. She said, I actually think God just dropped me a baby to have for Mother's day, so this is my baby for Mothers Day!
Bouschard's still trying to figure out why the hawk decided to release the puppy from it's clutches. He is so wiggly and his nose, he's a bulldozer, I could see him wiggling right out of the talons of it, she said.
It's a gift from the sky she's decided to name "TJ Heavenly."
How cool is this? Okay, again, pennies from heaven, puppies from heaven," expressed Bouschard. Bouschard has since given TJ Heavenly medicine and plenty of food. She's assuming he's about eight weeks old because he opened his eyes for the first time, Tuesday.
Sounds younger than eight weeks to me if the eyes just opened. Good luck to the pup.
In other words, a Democratic puppy became a Tea-Party puppy on Tuesday.
I hate birds of prey.
They can all go extinct for all I care.
Last year I heard my little Yorkie screaming outside, just as I got the door open my Jack Russel and my Lab went flying out the door. A Horned Owl had the Yorkie and the Jack Russel hit the Owl so hard the feathers were flying then my lab Gus hit the owl and pretty much ruined his whole day. Nothing punctured on the Yorkie, couple of pretty good guts on Maggie the Jack Russel and Gus had owl for supper. The little JR hit the owl going full blast, she’s fearless.

My daughter once house sat for a family with 3 of them, it was an education.
A powerful thermal might have done it. I would have named the puppy Freefall, or Bounce.
I love JR’s. I had one named Barney. It would kill squirels, cats, and even latched onto a goats neck once. Fearless creatures. They definitely do what’s in their nature..
Millions of rodents agree with you.
Or splat, skydiver...

I like raptors until they draw near my kitties, or near the pheasants I feed out here in the driveway during winter.
At that point they become birds of MY prey.
That probably happened after he got mugged by the hawk.
I watched a hawk pick up and drop a squirrel from about 20 feet in the air, into my back yard. The squirrel was stunned but he staggered off.
Fairly partial to eagles myself.
I’m with you! And they are now in suburban neighborhoods - unheard of when I was a kid. Buzzards, hawks...yikes!
I once had a fish land near me. I know there were Ospreys in the area, as well as Bald Eagles.

Puppies typically open their eyes for the first time in 7 to 10 days. Same is true for kittens...
