I can't even find anyone that is bright enough to tell me over the phone what make and model trucks they have for rent, much less what the tow rating is.
FR is a fantastic place for seeking advice. There is always somebody that knows something about just about every conceivable topic.
And if nobody knows, there is always somebody that thinks they know.
As a whole, FReepers knows everything there is to know about anything.
About 20,000 lbs of fertilizer and a few other chemicals. Why do you ask?
Not if it is a 5th wheel hitch.
I can barely search the web. What you did in just 9 min, from initial ques.,is amazing to me. Nice to see guys like you on the “right” side
You’ll also need $50,000,000 of combined general liability insurance, twice that in single occurrence umbrella liability, a waiver of subrogation in favor of the lessor, a CDL, be over 80 and accompanied by your parents.
Good luck.

20k is most likely going to require a 5th wheel hitch. Is that what you had in mind?
It’s pretty good bet that someone needing to ask where to rent said equipment is lacking the requisite skill set to handle same.
Surprised noone had asked.
Whatta fertilizing? ....just kidding.
Seriously, there’s a site called “Let me Google That For You” (http://lgmtfy.com)
When someone asks a question easily answered by Google (or any other search engine,) go there and enter the search terms.
It automatically generates the search.
My guess is the Boomers and older are more prone to ask, because of less familiarity with the systems. My kids (9, 6 and 4) are now showing me (Gen X) how to do things on my phone.
Hire someone to tow whatever it is for you. That will be easier than finding rental, skill set, and license.
You left out the death and dismemberment clause.
I didn’t give all the twists and snags and complexities.
I have an oddball trailer. custom built with 3 axles. It uses a plain old bumper hitch but with a large ball size. I have the ball so no prob there. I just can’t find a truck with the tow rating that has a bumper on it. My one ton pickup won’t budge this thing. This trailer is loaded heavy. I estimate it between 17500 and 22500 lbs. Tongue weight is small, about 500 lbs.
What I probably need is a ford F550 with a bumper and a diesel motor with two tons of weight on the back for traction. Or maybe an old ford c600 or an international loadstar might do it if they have bumpers. The last time I towed this trailer I had an old Ford F650 which I no longer have.
I think I’m going to start calling friends to ask if I can borrow an old heavy haul farm grain truck or something.
You might try searching the Thomas Register at thomasnet.com. But I would recommend that you contact a reference librarian, particularly in a large city library, who will have experience in doing business reference as well as access to a wide variety of print and online reference sources. I have been very satisfied with the Chicago Public Library’s online reference service.
You are the maximum for a hotshot load. You won’t be renting a truck and trailer. You should call a broker and arrange for a hot shot load Pt A to Pt B. You pay for driver, rig and broker. Better be accurate on the weight as you could easily be hiring a flatbed or dry van.
Drivers are hungry right now. You might get a pretty good deal.
The RAM 3500 is rated at 22,500# towing capacity IF it has the Cummins diesel engine AND the 6 spd auto tranny.
Maybe you missed the part about this trailer being MINE. As in I own it.
You know what dingle berries on sheep are called don’t you?

I always forget something on insurance and insurance wonks always seem to come up with something I have not heard of before and it is usually some arcane phrase that isn’t intuitively obvious in meaning. For example, what would you think that a “voluntary compensation” endorsement on workman’s comp would mean? It sure isn’t what I thought it is.
Well .. good luck.
I’m so busy doing what I do I can’t learn fast enough. The kids are all gone as well. I keep the young guys who work with me so busy they don’t have much time to teach.
Dad and his older guy boss said the computer is the best anti-senility medicine ever created. That was when they were playing solitaire on the Commodore!
