Races Danica is in get 17% higher ratings than ones she’s not in. That’s 2.1 million viewers, increasing the price of ads in the broadcast and the value of sponsorship for ALL the drivers. That’s not affirmative action, that’s a solid business decision.

That I did not know. Thank you for pointing this out to me as it is a reason other than affirmative action for her being in NASCAR.

I can understand that decision from a business standpoint but I still think her driving is not at the same level as the other drivers in Sprint Cup. But if she brings in that much more money than she deserves to be there, monetary wise.

Thanks for the educational post rather than the other crap that I was engaged in.

you know its like the NBA....personally, I like to watch someone from my ethnic/racial group for a change.....its human nature...

so if Danica Patrick can bring in millions more viewer who happen to be female, what is the beef?....there's a ton of female nascar fans already, what's wrong with a few more?
