You said that.
Sure did
I think it is higher
Here is my source. Where's yours?
Still even your number is a HUGE number and how many jobs is that
How many?
A country that has to have other countries( mainly China) make 2.2 trillion of the things we use and you say that is ok?
I said that? Where?
imagine how many jobs, technology , factories etc we'd have in the U.S. if we produced just 1/3 of that 2.2 trillion that we import from other countries?
It's true, if we made all our cheap plastic toys and pink flamingo lawn ornaments, we'd have lots of high technology, high paying jobs.
as I said practically everything we use will be made in China.
Yeah, I already ridiculed that silly claim.
Practically everyone knows that most of the stuff we use in made in China .
Yeah, $400 billion in a $15 trillion economy translates into "most".
Only you and some other free traders believe otherwise
You're right, free traders are much better at math than you.
And you wonder why we have to borrow so much ,
I don't wonder at all, it's because our government spends way too much.
(100 trillion in unfunded liabilities
Yeah, the government promises way too much future spending.
you are not living in reality.
You're funny.
You said you were going to reply point by point. Let me know when you get around to that. Especially this one.
You free traders agree with Obama, democrats and Marx on this free trade.
Please explain how. Be as precise as you can.
United States imports were worth 238.6 Billion USD in March of 2012( that's 2.8 trillion or almost 3 trillion $ per year for those in Rio linda). That's most of the stuff we use is made in other countries( the biggest culprit China). So my "ridiculous claim" that SOON practially everything we use will be made in other countries is actually truth(look at the spike in that graph).
http://www.tradingeconomics.com/united-states/imports
And look at that graph and see that imports are skyrocketing even every month. That is the worst part the incredible increase in imports.
. There is no reason we have to import that many products and that is not good for the U.S. In fact it's disastrous. You say the economy is 15 trillion . LOL yeah that's what the propagandists say. Actually they say consumer spending is the largest part of that 15 trillion and what is that consumers and government borrowing so consumers can spend more on China products.
The U.S. has almost every natural resource and we were we above any country in technology and manufacturing a few decades ago.
The whole electronics industry and the thousands of high tech products is entirely in China now. You think a country can prosper if they don't and can't make these high tech products?
U.S. Private sector job growth was almost non-existent over the past ten years. Take a look at this horrifying chart:
http://www.businessweek.com/the_thread/economicsunbound/archives/2009/06/a_lost_decade_f.html
Compare this to job growth in China and India.Imagine if we actually made the stuff In the U.S.A that we buy from other countries: how many jobs would we have here?
How is your free trade working out for you?
