Against visual spotting it dose make a ship hard to ID. Remember they are in waters with a lot of ships. If they can avoid getting IDed until they get close this could be an effective measure. That black paint job was just a give away. With a dazzle camo and the big block numbers they are trying to look like an Navy ship.

Radar tells you that there is a ship there, not who it is. SeaHippies are known for black ships. So if you make the ship hard to ID the guys they are hunting may not react soon enough to break up the SeaHippies attack.

As much as I despise Islam and islamists, and all that, I spent some time with these people, and most I knew really hate the fighting on behalf of Allah, most dudes i worked with are truly peaceful (just working for a paycheck like me) and do not interpret the koran the way we think so many do, at least where I was, western Africa, back where I was born, even though i am white, and a Massachusetts raised red sox fan.

True, but they have a 200’ship and the tuna guys aren’t much bigger than about 110, the signature is pretty easy to pick out.
