I can’t imagine that Louisiana is dominated by “liberals” (but then again, this ain’t my daddy’s America anymore). The “Napoleonic Code” is a bit foreign to me, but I’ve always found folks from LA are good people. I’ve gone to LA several times on business.

If I had to move, LA would be one of those states that would be acceptable to me.

The Code Napoleon is foreign to Louisiana as well. The basis of civil law in Louisiana is the Code Civil of 1808, and subsequent iterations of the Civil Code. Fun topic, reaching back to Louis XIV and the Roman Republic. Sadly contaminated by Anglo-American common law influences and decadent juridical moles operating out of an effete, arrogant and decadent law school in New Orleans. I am half joking about decadent juridical moles. Well, maybe 27% joking.
