The “Napoleonic Code” is a bit foreign to me, but I’ve always found folks from LA are good people.

***************

The Code Napoleon is foreign to Louisiana as well. The basis of civil law in Louisiana is the Code Civil of 1808, and subsequent iterations of the Civil Code. Fun topic, reaching back to Louis XIV and the Roman Republic. Sadly contaminated by Anglo-American common law influences and decadent juridical moles operating out of an effete, arrogant and decadent law school in New Orleans. I am half joking about decadent juridical moles. Well, maybe 27% joking.

Ahhh...thanks. The 27% comment was pretty funny too!
