Think of that cabin as a meat locker.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only would you have millions of cow parts, you’d also have a blown up cabin. That exploding whale video left a lasting impression on me. Yuck!

Of course, the decay could have been slowed from all the leftover chromium and arsenic sites. Back in the early days they used mercury in tanning which almost entirely stops decompostion.

It says they've disposed of elk this way. Animals die and rot. Its nature. Does the national forest service just comb through the woods looking for animals to blow up? Why not just let them decay and get eaten by wolves? Like I said, its nature.
Me thinks they've got a few too many pyromaniacs in the NFS.

In WWII, the US Army had this thing called a pack howitzer (75mm). Could be disassembled into something like half a dozen or so pack-animal transportable pieces.
Would be a lot more fun than just one dynamite blast.

Need Wile E. Coyote to consult on best approach here.

Of course, the decay could have been slowed from all the leftover chromium and arsenic sites. Back in the early days they used mercury in tanning which almost entirely stops decompostion.
First problem is that log houses if well caulked are naturally well insulated. This means the cows will thaw slowly. The ones nearer the outside will thaw first and the ones in the middle will stay frozen longer.
Rotting large animals will liquefy internally and bloat with gas until their skin ruptures spilling the liquefied internal organs. With the large animals and large amount of liquid the concern is that this bacterial soup will contaminate the spring water that locals drink from.
The reason you can not leave the cows to the wolves is that wolves are highly territorial and this amount of bovine flesh could not be consumed by the local pack by it self before the contamination of the spring water.

It’s the government. I see half a dozen environmental impact studies to be done. Proposals will be written. Bids will be let out; minority and woman and LGBT contractors will be given first dibs.
I see this taking probably 10 years, $200 million and 250 people to get done.
Alternatively; if a 18 year Iowa farm kid was put in charge; you would 3 guys go up with a winch and rope and have it done in 2 hours.

It says they've disposed of elk this way. Animals die and rot. Its nature. It is not natural for six or more cows to be frozen solid inside a mountain cabin. They also have cows frozen outside the cabin. What I dont understand is the worry about using trucks.
rangers are worried about using trucks in a wilderness area, where the government bars permanent improvements and tries to preserve the natural habitat.

All they have to do is tie a few branches to the truck bumper and drag it behind them, problem solved!.

Government wilderness rules ban chainsaws and all mechanized vehicles.
The eco terrorists want to create more wilderness areas.
