You guys have got it all wrong. For her it was no doubt a relief and an escape from a living Hell.
The husband sounds like a real bastard!
Why "no doubt"? Just because she was female? Because absolutely nothing in the article supports your claim. It could just as easily be that she made his life a living hell, with her vicious mouth, and finally, after 37 years of sheer hell and verbal abuse, he simply snapped.
From article: "Christopher Thorson told detectives the couple had been fighting and arguing since early Thursday morning. The husband told investigators his wife kept calling him names and yelling at him. Finally, according to Byrd, Vanessa Thorson said to her husband, "Why don't you just shoot me?"...the couple had been married for 37 years..."
The shotgun-murder thing tipped me off.
You're right. Any wife who says that to a husband who just went and loaded his shotgun and pointed it at her is looking for out.
The husband sounds like a real bastard!
As evidenced by the fact that he deliberately went and deliberately loaded and pointed the loaded shotgun at his wife.
And then pulled the trigger.
Doubtless it was a tremendous relief for both of them.
