Eighteen holes is only five or so miles for those who walk, which are fewer and fewer.
I often play in charity tournaments where carts are included with registration and stocked with complimentary goodies, box lunch etc. I load up my bag, but leave the cart to the player I’m paired with and walk the course, anyway. Removing myself from the course by not walking disconnects me from the game and I never play well. The walk is part of the game and the experience of the environment. With the exception of those who are handicapped, I look at using a cart for golf much like using a cart to go hiking.
