All smokescreens. That happens a lot with the number 1. I remember when Bill Parcells said he thought you needed to build with defense, then he took Jake Long number 1.

RGIII is one of the best players I have ever seen. He is big, can run with power and throw with precision. Baylor doesn’t get on TV much.

As an old Redskin fan, I’d take either one, though leaning toward Griffin. But will RG3 require more of a change in the Colts’ offensive scheme? No matter which, the Colts o-line has got to be ecstatic about lining up and not have to worry about two or three audibles on every play.
Won’t matter with the Skins though, as long as Snyder is in charge, never mind the Super Bowl, the PLAYOFFS will forever be just a distant, fond memory.

By the way, I will tell you this, Wilbon said, mid-rant. Its not like Im following this closely, but I had the occasion over the weekend to talk to a couple of people who have intimate knowledge of what the Colts are thinking. And you and I have talked very briefly on the show about are they still considering RGIII? Tony, Im told they are.
As 49ers fan, I'd have to say I'd take either Luck or RG3 over Alex Smith. In a heartbeat. Too bad that's not an option. I had the pleasure of seeing Luck play at Stanford and pro scouts are saying Griffin will be spectacular. Both seem like great young men with good characters, as well.
The Colts won't be criticized for picking either. They could be serious about Griffin, or could be trying to see if they can panic Mike Shanahan into giving them something to trade up one more spot if he's locked in on Griffin.

Can’t go wrong with either Griffin or Luck. Both are franchise QBs. Quite looking forward to watching them play.

While the Colts might consider Robert Griffin III, the Colts need a QB that can see over the huge defensive linemen and linebackers common in the NFL nowadays. Luck, being 6' 3", is tall enough for that purpose.

RG3 .... Luck. Yeah, they’re good, but Tannehill (A&M) is going to be a franchise QB. Whoever gets him is getting a good one.

I actually enjoy most of Wilbon’s commentary. However it helps to keep in mind he is black first and everything on earth is a distant third. It’s just that obvious.
