Consider this my “Yes, as a matter of fact I AM still among the living” announcement.
Waiting for escrow to close so we can start making mods to FIL’s new house [wider interior doors in his apartment, ADA bathroom will roll-in shower, add bedroom and kitchenette], and begin moving our stuff to the main house, doing home repair in prep to rent out our place [looks like a missionary family on furlough might take it for a year or so], getting rid o as much stuff as possible in prep for move, raising eight chickens [including a black rooster that is developing teal highlights on his plumage and looks like it will really turn into a gorgeous bird], dealing with FIL’s ongoing drama [estranged wife finally moved out of his house so he’s back home to find that his brand-new Benelli shotgun, and trusty Savage 30-06/20ga over-under aren’t in the safe where he’d left them so filed a report with local Law who say he’ll probably never see them again though I’m pretty sure I know who has them, compensation will be taken out of said wife’s monthly check in any event, meanwhile FIL left on a short-notice trip to visit a terminally ill brother in Utah], work contract extended to April 2013 [Woo-Hoo!!], back to driving the ‘97 Chevy “War Machine” [it’ll clock over 300k miles sometime in the middle of next week] while the 2000 LeSabre gets about $1500 in body/mechanical work done, dropping a few bucks into the wife’s Aerostar, helping #1 Son gear up to go to prom with a girl he knows from his theater troupe [promoting honorable BOUNDARIES and the value of being able to look back without any regrets], keeping sibling rivalries and internecine warfare to a dull roar, ...
...in all, just been sorta chillin’.
Got coffee??
2 cups
I do a lot of that, too. And speaking of #1 Sons, mine was supposed to go running, but I'll bet he's still in bed with his computer.
WOW, HK...I got tired just reading all of that! Multiply it by a few thousand kids, and it makes mah tard ake, fershure.
It sounds as if you are enjoying every minute of the challenges that beset you. I pray for you and your family, as I do for the rest of my favorite FReepers.
Keep the Faith and remember that God knows your needs and will provide for you...as long as you ask! He is a VERY Loving Father!
Got.
I use an old Indian recipe that's good for what ails ya.
Apottoma coffee will let them see the whites of your eyes.
You can do all that on coffee? You have my respect. I'd need a McD large mocha AND a Diet Coke. And prayer (bet you've done that as well).
My 'prom eligible' child is San, a 17 year-old HS junior - a girl. She went to prom at his school and her school. Even though her boyfriend is a great kid, I gave him the "I can kill you without use of my left arm" stare both nights.
