Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert had a heart attack early March 26 while in Dubai, where he was preparing to run Game On Dude and The Factor in Dubai World Cup races March 31.
Bafferts assistant, Jim Barnes, said from Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., that Baffert was doing very good after having three stents inserted in two arteries. Barnes said he had spoken to the trainers wife, Jill, who had accompanied her husband to the Middle East, along with their young son, Bode.
Barnes said Jill Baffert told him the procedure went well, and everything should be fine.

“I sure hope he recovers.”
Same here. I’m a big fan. I guess he’ll be well taken care of.
Are we the Thoroughbred people on FR?
Muzzie doctors? Wonder if they were trained in the US?
I saw this earlier, that is a wakeup call.
“Are we the Thoroughbred people on FR?”
There are a few of us around.
I guess so. I’m a TB and QH person.
I hear ya. 100% in one artery and 90% in another. Lucky. Knock on wood.
He’s Lookin’ at Lucky. :-)

Count me in, although I find it very hard to follow TB racing these days.
Should have seen that one coming.
Anything but the 1 post and Lucky would have won the Derby. That was my logic then, remains the same. We’ll never know.
IMHO, Point Given was Baffert’s best horse. Still can’t believe he didn’t win the Derby.
I think Baffert has mentioned that, hasn’t he? Or maybe it was Gary Stevens. The painful memory for me was Captain Bodgit in 1997. I’m not sure if Solis is to blame.

Used Free House that year. Big fan of Paco Gonzalez.
He’s pretty tight with the Saudi Royals...think he’ll be well cared for.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him at the track this weekend.
Of course the doctors were trained in the US. The standard of care over there is really quite good, as a result. Not as high as in India, of course, but nothing to quarrel with.
