Geraldo Rivera's son, Gabriel, is reportedly ashamed his father made a controversial statement about Trayvon Martin on Friday.
"Gabriel broke my heart," said Rivera, according to Politico. "He's my oldest, 32, and he just told me that for the first time in his life he's ashamed of what I wrote on [Fox News Latino]," Rivera said in an email."
Friday morning, Rivera said on Fox News's morning program, "Fox and Friends," that he believed the fact that Martin wore a hoodie contributed to his death.
"I am urging the parents of black and Latino youngsters particularly to not let their children go out wearing hoodies," the Fox News host said. "I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin's death as George Zimmerman was."
Rivera also mentioned his younger son, 24-year-old Cruz. He said he had previously warned his son about wearing hoodies out in public.
"When you see a kid walking down the street, particularly a dark-skinned kid like my son Cruz, who I constantly yelled at when he was going out wearing a damn hoodie or those pants around his ankles," he said, before penning an article that appeared on the Fox News Latino website soon after.

Go back and get another latte with your Hillary kaffeklatch group and tell them you still sound like an idiot. If you all think really hard on the problem together... nah, it won't matter.
If Whorealdo was my dad I’d wear a hoodie 24/7.
There’s nothing wrong with us “people.”
I wear a black, hooded sweater, wouldn’t call it a “hoodie.” I’m a 52 year old white woman, but there is no way anyone is going to take me for a possible criminal.I usually don’t wear the hood up over my face. That’s what Geraldo was getting at—sort of like DWB or DWH. It’s the combo of hoodie and pants down past their butts, being of color, and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or what another person perceives to be the wrong place/wrong time.
LOL....yep, I graduated in ‘58 so I guess I’m just a young buck. Ducks Ass is correct, I was trying to be polite. I think people need to realize that there are certain types of dress that they should be concerned about. I was raised in L.A. and when you saw Chinese gangs roaming around with a ducks ass, they wore them a certain way and you best be careful around them, same goes for the Mexicans. Ignore it and you could be in big trouble. Just like the hoodies.
John Gibson played audio of Sharpton and Washington Post opinion writer Jonathan Capehart touring the hometown of the latter, Newark, NJ.
You'd think that Newark is 99% white and blacks creep around fearing being shot dead. They gave advice to blacks about how to behave in Newark to avoid being gunned down by whites.
Trayvon Martin's death has Jonathan Capehart recounting a young black man's 'don'ts'
I do not know anything about this site but it appears to be OK vis-a-vis malware.
malevolent is another matter.. looks like this tragic killing is just what the extremists wanted.
Have you seen what’s going on in Chicago?
Bodies are piling up everywhere.
Not to be confused with SuzyQue.
Me too! And my kids and my grandkids! They're comfy, warm and washable. In Florida in February one doesn't need to wear a LL Bean down jacket.
The irony of the fact that George Zimmerman is an Hispanic that Whorealdo is trying to paint as a Klansman/Tea Party member isn’t lost on anybody but Whorealdo.
Thanks for explaining it to me. I’m clearly not informed. I do wear a garment called a “hoodie” which I’ve worn for years. It is black and it keeps me warm. I sometimes pull the hood up to keep my head warm. Was not aware that this was so controversial. Now I know.
I got that, but it's good you made the point. I think she's trying to fly under your radar.
Which, of course, is a complement - shills have picked you as a known Freeper!
Not controversial. You are making it such.
Hoods, however, have been worn by monks, by scholars, by woman attached to a cloak. Hoodie is a recent term and has been associated with hip-hop,gangstas, and representing a neighborhood. Clothes say a lot in certain places. Look at gang members and colors.
It’s the where, why and when that matters. Not the freakin’ hood itself.
The Martin family apparently has no explanation why their son was wearing a hoodie that night.
I wear one when it is cold. However, many thugs wear them in summer. They help hide their faces when they rob people. Most wear a ski mask under them, then, pull them down to do their dirty deeds. Not all people who wear hoodies are criminals, but there is that criminal element that young folks like to emulate.
Sure it is all over the country. Which infuriates me with the black community, always looking for an opportunity to blame the white man. I am betting there will be fifteen or twenty murders, in the ghettos of this country this weekend, black on black or gang related, and other than a blurb on the news, we won’t hear one word about how they are destroying and killing their own. Where will the protesters be?
You jest?
I wouldn’t know where to get a “latte with your Hillary kaffeklatch”. I have no idea what that is and I doubt that I would have easy access to it. I guess I’m an idiot.
Lol.. that threw me off a bit too, glad you said something ;)
>> For once, hes right.
Geraldo is very ethnic centric. The shooter is Hispanic.
