Season 2 ended tonight. I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but I don'tmiss an episode.
I saw that movie on NetFlix. Funny as hell! Those Norweigans make some good movies. I think Troll Hunter was their’s too.
I liked seeing Rick finally get p****d off about his whiny companions. Though, one does wonder how thin his patience will wear without Dale there to play Jiminy Cricket.
1 - it’s generally part of the mythology that zombie bites are all around extra nasty and toxic, putting all kinds of definitely fatal nasty in your blood stream unless extreme measures (amputation) are taken very quickly. The scenario they’ve developed for WD-TV seems to follow the “classic” Romero path: all zombie bites are fatal, all dead people turn to zombies.
2 - Rick didn’t want to believe him. And remember they were best friends. It was hard enough to kill his friend, you then want him to mutilate the body just in case the crazy doctor was right. Remember season one with Andrea and her sister, her sister got killed by a zombie bite but Andrea still waited for re-animation to start, knowing what’s coming but hoping. As for Rick’s surprise, Carl surprised him and distracted him, it looked like he was watching for signs then came Carl and now he’s got to explain to his kid why his “uncle” and family best friend is dead, all this at the end of a long day that involved a hike through the woods.
3 - we’ve seen at least a few of those car dead stir when “inspired” by seeing or hearing people. Being in cars in Atlanta in summer a lot probably just rotted to goo, others might have gotten a head hit we didn’t notice.
It’s not rule changes. We’re working with very incomplete information. The characters have no clue and are just piecing things together non-scientifically. They got new info, largely because there haven’t been any non-zombie caused deaths until very recently, and really Shane’s was the first one they got to observe all the way through.
In TWD, these people were all infected long before -- back in Season 1. The CDC researcher whispered that to the sheriff, and it's only revealed in this episode. Just how they were infected, we don't know yet.
I am currently watching all of the episodes on iTunes all over again.
THEN, I’m going to play some Left 4 Dead with my Wife.
Good times to be had by all.
BTW...
Thanks for the ping, Doomonyou.
What makes you say that? He never balked at killing the walkers; he was rather justifiably appalled that everyone else in the group was talking about killing another human without having any hard evidence that he would betray them.
Wow, this was a great thread---I'm sorry I found it so late.
It was my impression that Dale was a Democrat, too, but mainly because he was a college professor. Bless his old heart, he carried that rifle all the time, but did he ever fire it, LOL? And of course, LORI is a Democrat because she was against the death penalty. Just another reason to hate her.
When the murderous, latino gang-bangers turned out to be sweet boys guarding an old folks home and the stereotypical "southern, white racist" was the biggest monster of season 1, I checked out and watched my copy of "Shaun of the Dead".
Anyone know why the Walking Dead marathon on AMC 10/13/2012 is being broadcast in spanish? WTF? I can’t find anything about it online. Could my TV be possesed by an illegal?
The pain you feel today is the strength you'll have tomorrow.
