DENVER -- A Denver police officer arrested in the beating of his girlfriend claimed that she attacked him with a Justin Bieber doll.
Officer Michael Nuanes, Jr., 37, said that his girlfriend hurled a Barbie-sized Justin Bieber doll at him, injuring his foot.

Girlfriend Had Injuries To Head, Elbow, Ribs
Later that night, deputies interviewed the girlfriend at a friend’s home.
She said the argument began during dinner when Nuanes gave her an ultimatum to change her Facebook page status to say she was in a relationship with him, the affidavit said. Nuanes then ordered her out of his house.
The girlfriend said the argument escalated into violence and Nuanes grabbed her by the hair, threw her to the ground and punched her in the ribs, the affidavit said. She locked herself in the bathroom, but she said he kicked in the door and continued to attack her.
A deputy photographed her injuries, including swollen bruises on the top of her head and elbow and a purple bruise on the left side of her rib cage, the affidavit said.
The girlfriend said that she didn’t want Nuanes to get in trouble or go to jail, but she said that he needs help, the affidavit said. She told the deputy that she was not afraid of her boyfriend.
A deputy viewed the cellphone video the girlfriend took that showed Nuanes grabbing her leg and trying to pull her off a bed until she kicked at him and broke free, according to a search warrant affidavit.
