Shocker: “Game Change” creators gave $200,000 to Democrats, $0 to Republicans

In case the official statement of SarahPAC didn’t make it clear enough that the creators of HBO’s “Game Change” had little desire to hear or tell the Republican side of the story of the 2008 election, the news now is that the film’s top stars and executives have collectively donated more than $200,000 to Democrats and Democratic causes, but have given Republicans and Republican-leaning causes $0. The Hollywood Reporter notes the contributions of several leading minds behind the movie:

The film’s co-executive producers have also made significant contributions. This comes as no surprise; it would be far more newsworthy if a Hollywood cast and crew gave primarily to Republicans. Still, it underscores a need for conservatives to play a larger part in the crafting of the cultural narrative. If we object to Hollywood’s dramatic rendering of the McCain/Palin campaign, we should kick ourselves that we didn’t think to render it dramatically first. Stories — novels, movies, TV shows — help people to make sense of their lives, their surroundings and, yes, their history. The storyteller has great power over his listeners and is able to shape perspectives in a way that matter-0f-fact commentators cannot. Counterintuitively, people are often resistant to facts and swayed by emotion. It would be to the benefit of the conservative movement as a whole if more conservative parents encouraged their children in the direction of the arts — not necessarily to create “conservative” art, but to be conservatives, creating.

RE: And this is a “shocker” because...?

I don’t know if the author is being sarcastic ( as in the Casablanca scene — “I’m Shocked, shocked that gambling is going on”), or not.

Personally, I am NOT surprised.

I know I’ll never patronize another Tom Hanks movie, either at the theater or on TV.

“Game Change” is a Liberal hit piece put together by some of their key operatives.

(As an aside, Hanks is a scumbag. Any one who calls him “this generation’s Jimmy Stewart” deserves to be punched.)

Just my opinion, but I think Gary Sinese might be "this generation's Jimmy Stewart". And I think he would likely receive more leading roles if he weren't a conservative who actively works to support our military.

Will the FEC be viewing this film and the cost of it as Obama campaign expenditures? If not, the Koch brothers need to get started on the Obama, mafia film.

"ED HARRIS AS JOHN McCAIN"

That's not too much of a stretch. In fact sometimes I think Ed Harris is stepping in for John McCain in real life.

RE: I think Gary Sinese might be “this generation’s Jimmy Stewart”.

This actor is under-rated.

But consider this :

Sinise has won various awards including an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Academy Award.

In 1992, Sinise directed, and played the role of George Milton in the successful film adaptation of Of Mice and Men.

Sinise was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1994 for his role as Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump.

He won a Golden Globe Award for his role in Truman, as Harry S. Truman.

In 1996, he played a corrupt police officer in the dramatic hit Ransom, Detective Jimmy Shaker (OK, Jimmy Stewart would never play a bad guy...)

In 1998, Sinise was awarded an Emmy Award for the television film George Wallace, a portrayal of the late George C. Wallace.

Since 2004, Sinise has starred in CBS’s CSI: NY as Detective Mac Taylor.

Producer Tom Hanks...

What a surprise - Mr. Piss lurking in the background against Palin! Bwahahaha!

(FYI: It's not a name, it's a calling - and one he actually believes is witty. He pisses in all his movies, as his super-secret message to those not in his elite circle).
