When Jesus walked on water the disciples at first thought it was a ghost, yes? So this stuff was not unheard of in Biblical times. Cannot the Lord allow supernatural phenomena to take place as a sort of reminder that we are enmeshed in a supernatural struggle, that our lives are not our own?

You’re right, the disciples thought He was a ghost until He spoke. But that proves what? That superstition is age-old.

If you’ll read my posts, you’ll see that I’m not arguing against supernatural phenomena. A Christian knows without doubt that the supernatural world exists-—but as the Bible describes it. We know angels and demons exist. But ghosts, no. If you witness some occurrence you think is a ghost, you can be assured it’s demonic activity, trying to cast doubt on God’s word and its warning about death and the judgement. You can’t believe in ghosts without rejecting Scripture.
