Calling her a 'slut' and a 'prostitute' was the least of it. Limbaugh spent four days making up outrageous things that Fluke supposedly said about her sex life and the amount of sex she was having, when Fluke never even mentioned her own contraception. A large number of people on this site think those "Rush Statements" are facts.
And they've taken on a life of their own. People believe she said those things. And if you try to point out that Rush . . . lied . . . about her sex practices they say "she's a slut and she's a liberal."
And conservatives are going to go out and look like idiots, trying to claim that Fluke said these things. Thank you, Rush.
Except the furore is NOT over “four days” of Rush commentary. It is from a ten second passage of hypothesizing which did not even end up concluding that Fluke was a slut.
But don't you find it a tad bit queer that this paragon of virtue, Fluke is appearing on the Ed Show? Or The View? Or referring people to Media Matters?
Shouldn't this be at least duly noted?
This woman is a leftist TOOL! Period. Nothing Limbaugh said can erase that. If she pushes a wee bit too much, she'll get scrutiny that she really won't like.
If she didn't she should have said so when she had the chance.
Now somebody is going to try to beat me down on a technicality that "some" does not mean "all" ~ and that might work, but that doesn't include "self" ~ and it's not neutral either!
We recall in the Anita Hill hearings that she referred constantly to "some women" and was quite happy to hear Leftwingtard commenters imagine that she meant herself, not just others.
So the meaning is set ~ "some women" always means two things ~ (1) I'm going to tell you a lie, and (2) It's all about me, so feel sorry for me and cr*p all over that guy over there.
Anyone that sticks up for that whore is lower than dirt!!!
Whatever, so sick of this whole Fluke nonsense. The media is just using it as a distraction from the real issue of Obama’s assault on religious freedom.
“Limbaugh spent four days making up outrageous things “
He did? Really? Four days worth you say? Are you sure about that?
Ted Baxter?
Rush was trying to figure out why he needed to pay a Cornell grad and GeoTown Law student a thousand bucks a year to have sex. Get over your hyperbole.
“Limbaugh spent four days making up outrageous things that Fluke supposedly said about her sex life and the amount of sex she was having, when Fluke never even mentioned her own contraception. “
Not true, so can the outrage.
Limbaugh made it very clear that IF Fluke was using $1000/year preventing birth control, THEN she was a slut. His point, if you would bother to listen, was that of COURSE she did no such thing. She didn’t have 1,000+ lovers each year - no one does. Thus, she was lying.
But of course, you might have to listen to someone besides Media Matters to find that out...
And your remarks do NOTHING to cover for her gross overestimation of the cost of birth control ($3000 for three years as though that is "typical" and as though there are not generic brands, "womyn's clinics", or even boyfriends / husbands to help buy them). Yes I read her remarks -- one of her "cases" was a married woman who was "forced" to forgo contraception because "she couldn't afford it".
1) That's the Obaama economy
2) WTF is she doing going to Georgetown ($40k/yr) when she can't afford $3000/3 years ?
3) WTF should Georgetown, or the taxpayers, fund her poor lifestyle choices? If that student can't afford contraception, it's a safe bet she can't afford either an abortion OR a child. She should have held off of marriage until she could reasonable afford the responsibilities thereof, rather than biting off more than she could chew.
4) Or she could use the Lewinsky method: as contraception doesn't bother her, she can't be TOO persnickety about alternative methods, right?
And the other case, of the womyn who ran off crying because "her insurance didn't cover the contraception" ?? Whatever happened to "I am woman, hear me roar?"
(Georgetown allows other insurance plans besides its own, which *do* cover contraception. And Fluke knew of Georgetown's policy and joined the Law School in the past with the express aim of trying to change their policy.)
Not to mention that this wasn't (as you love to point out on another thread) SWORN testimony: it wasn't before the real committee: it was just a fabulously scripted photo-opt.
She's merely a TROJAN WHORSE for those who do want us to subsidize their sleeping around, and those in the background, far more evil than them, who want to gain the right to dictate whether or not women will be allowed to HAVE children (cost containment, as Darth Sibelius reminds us).
Nice try, though.
Cheers!
Georgetown Student: Rush is Right
Did you read THIS, in particular:
"Fluke, in her own testimony before a Democratic panel, pointed out that the University covered birth control pills when used for the treatment of a medical condition. This is the key to understanding Limbaughs comments. When used for medicinal purposes and healthcare, Georgetown has no problem covering the expense of birth control under their insurance plan. Flukes complaint was based on the fact that it was not covered for the use as a contraceptive, which would violate the Catholic churchs beliefs."
You are a liar. It’s that simple. You make the left look like they play fair.
Rush did 0% of what you accuse and, of course, you can’t prove otherwise.
Rush CLEARLY mentioned that “anyone” (never mentioned Fluke by name) who wanted someone else to pay for their sexual recreation was a slut and prostitute. They want to be paid to have sex.
Geez, does the English language confuse you?
