What the heck does he think he's accomplishing with his asinine APOLOGY? With his STUPID apology, he has just pandered to the left. He has just had his first "Don Imus" moment. Is Rush going senile? I just don't get it. Maybe the guy really isn't all that bright.
I sure do hope Rush doesn't have to be unemployed for a period before recovering from his little apology moment like Don Imus did.

Let's put it this way, the very first thread about this Fluke person on the Washington Post had an out of the blue comment that "she's a dude".
So, we don't know yet, but apparently (see other threads on this) she worked as a lobbyist for the Transgender folks who want insurance companies to pay for their sex change operations.
Frankly there's something strange with this Fluke person ~ her $5 wig perhaps ~ or her jawline? Maybe it's the way she sits at a table with both arms out in front.
There are people who are born with a bit of this and that ~ I certainly don't want to criticize them in any way, but there are people who only imagine that, and they get antsy for surgery. They have enablers who encourage them in their belief.
Frankly, I think Fluke presented the Democrats with far more political street theatre than they planned on, and she's going to be the gift that keeps on giving ~ TO THE REPUBLICANS!

I am NOT sticking up for her. It was actually torture listening to her testimony. I don’t agree with ANY of what she said.
However, I started arguing with liberals on other sites and was getting my clocked cleaned because I had only listened to Rush’s take on the matter. When I listened to the testimony myself I realized that he mischaracterized her testimony. There was PLENTY to discuss about the idiocy of her testimony without making it about her sex life which her testimony was not.
If you could PLEASE point out to me ONE thing that she said about her own sexual habits, I would be happy to withdraw my comment.

And just for the record, I am a regular Rush listener because I like what he has to say. But I am under no delusions that Rush is anything more than an entertainer.

Her pseudo-testimony is not the issue in the same way private sex was not the issue with Clinton.
The issue is how one of our standard bearers capitulated to the democrat smear machine AGAIN, without ever giving us a chance to punish them for their duplicity.

Not to be overdramatic here, but Rush caused some serious damage to the issue at hand, which was religious freedom. I don’t care what he called her — she is, in fact, a slut. But by doing so he allowed the Left to lay down another layer of smokescreen over an issue they were already distorting for weeks. They changed the topic from religious freedom to contraception...now they get to confuse it some more.
He’s supposed to be much smarter than this.
Actually, ad guy, Mameluke makes a good point; in that, as a general rule, it is never a good idea to retreat just because you have been engaged by the enemy. These tactics only tend to embolden your adversary.
The problem, as I see it, is that Rush fell into a trap that ended up being a losing proposition no matter what he did; so, he, reluctantly, chose to cut his losses and issue the apology because it was the least odious choice.
Obviously, Rush was losing sponsors at a rapid pace and w/o the apology this would likely have gained even more momentum. Businesses advertise because they want to attract customers; not lose them.
Additionally, Rush may have some legal exposure because it is unclear whether Ms Fluke is a private or public figure. If she is a private figure, the accusation that she is a “prostitute” or a “slut” is not provable; given the facts as we know them. (She asserts her birth control prescription was for treatment of a medical condition; not to prevent pregnancy.)
That said; she may be a public figure in that she has a documented record for many years of being an activist for Dem-related causes that deal w/abortion and b/c. It also appears she lied about her age. (She is 30; not 23 as originally stated.) Also, she would have a very hard time substantiating the dollar figure she claims her b/c method(s) cost her; plus, she should have been aware that Georgetown University is a Catholic institution run by Jesuits where Catholic beliefs and moral principles would be paramount.
Most importantly, I believe Rush was probably being pressured by influential friends, both inside and outside the GOP, to “put this issue to bed” because it was taking the focus off the central issue (religious freedom) and hurting all the GOP candidates (especially Santorum).
By the way; Since 1825, in honor of Major Presley O’Bannon, who, as a 1st Lieutenant led a successful raid to rescue the crew of the USS Philadelphia from the Barbary pirates, the Mameluke Sword has been the badge of a commissioned officer of the United States Marine Corps. Given Mamelukesabre's FR “handle,” I would assume he or she served this country in that capacity and should be addressed w/more respect.
