Santorum is a disaster. He’s going to drag down the Newt and make Romney the nominee. This guy has no shame, I’m telling you.

And yet Santorum is the one still statistically tied for FIRST PLACE in Ohio, so I don’t know how anyone can rationally claim he’s dragging anything down... especially given that Newt has consistently been way behind in third place and Santorum is once again being grossly outspent and maligned by the Romney and Paul attack machines.

Look, if you want Gingrich to have the best chance of remaining viable in this race, you’d best be hoping Santorum wins Ohio because a Romney win in such a key swing state will pretty much make him the presumed GOP nominee. If Santorum and Gingrich can collectively win at least four primaries among themselves on Super Tuesday (Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, and Oklahoma), it should greatly help slow Romney’s current momentum. The Santorum and Gingrich camps really need to be cheering on each other right now!

I think it's people like you who constantly run him down who are giving Romney the nomination. Santorum was doing fine, surging in all the polls until all the Newt people, GOPe, and media pummeled him before MI.

Yea, let's just discount Santorum's missteps in all of this.

It's us Freepers that have done all the damage.

You have got to be kidding.

Unless it is Romney against Obama. Believe me, Romney would not sue states over voter ID and perks for illegal aliens or retain Eric Holder, etc.

Finally someone gets it. Mittens is the enemy.

Conservatives cannot stop Romney by going it 2 ways.

Please vote Newt on Super Tuesday. Stop artificially building up Rick. He was getting dems voting for him in Michigan for pete sakes and they are still at it to cause trouble. Why are people on our side so naive. The ruling party is winning as we don't unite behind Newt. Newt has the experience and the right policies plus he can deal with the media and stand up to Obama.

Christine O’Donnell makes Sharron Angle look like a genius by comparison. Also, if the election in NV wasn't fixed (remember the power went out election night), Angle, warts and all, would have won.

Santorum is a tool; he's a Republican John Kerry.

I like Newt, would like to vote for him, but the primary objective is to keep Romney from capturing the ‘Romney Wins Ohio’ headlines on Wednesday.

Newt will win GA going away. If Romney wins OH he gets bragging rights and that is a disaster. If he had lost MI he would be damn near out of the race, but Romney squeaked through and won 1/2 the delegates. If he would ha lost by 1% he would still get half the delegates and would have been in BIG TROUBLE.

He loses OHIO and he is in HUGE TROUBLE!

We must keep Romney from winning Ohio and he only viable option is a vote for Santorum in Ohio and a vote for Gingrich in GEORGIA.

I am in Ohio!

Agreed! I’m pulling for Santorum to win Ohio and for Gingrich to win BIG in Georgia so that both can collect some badly needed delegates to keep pace with Romney and hopefully eventually overtake him! THEN we can have a good old-fashioned spirited contest between the two remaining conservatives left in this race!

I tried to warn FR about Christine O’Donnell, whom I’m sure is a decent person but was a completely incompetent candidate. I realize that Mike Castle left much to be desired, but at least he would have won.

Correct. We can’t let our choice of candidates get in the way of our common goal of defeating Mitt Romney. The GOP is dangerously close to nominating one of the founding fathers of socialized medicine in the U.S. as the its candidate.

He signed socialized medicine into law. He said on TV that he was “glad” that Obama was copying Romneycare. And just recently, we learned that he advocated Obama to adopt the individual mandate on a national level! He, like Obama, is a morally bankrupt political opportunist who can’t be reasoned with or “pulled to the right” once in office.

Santorum may be an awful candidate, but on this occasion, he’s a USEFUL awful candidate, just like Ron Paul in Virginia.

No, Freepers didn’t do all the damage to Rick but negative hurtful comments whether to Newt or Rick don’t help. Especially when combined with the media, Romney, and libs hits.

It’s ironic. Much of Rick’s support was an ABO bubble built up after he helped Romney take down Newt in Florida.

Perhaps, but, there is no comparison between Lincoln and Santorum.

Yes you did.

Castle would have pulled a Jeffords if possible, but he would have been somewhat usefull until more reinforcements arrived this year.

Now a Marxist will hold that Senate seat for forever.

I agree with you on this point. I’m rooting for Santorum to win OH on Tuesday. Newt is too far behind. We really need to slow down Mittens... Both Santorum and Newt are on life support for the moment.

Having said that, I really really hope Santorum would drop out after super Tuesday.
