I was just a little nubbin back during Nixon/Watergate. Was it anything at all like this? When that guy said that an entire week was missing from the microfilm, my jaw hit the floor.
Watergate PALES in comparison to ‘Fast & Furious’, Solyndra, MF Global, illegal war in Libya, unconstitutional recess appointments, unconstitutional health care mandates, LightSquared, the birth certificate, 0bama’s foreign student aid (but he’s a citizen, right?), use of someone else’s social security number(s), bogus selective service card, blah blah blah.. Oh, and blah blah blah blah blah...
Some dudes broke into a hotel room and stole some campaign documents.. THAT was Watergate.
Alex Galovich, head of the Passport Office, submitted (in a FOIA lawsuit by Chris Strunk) what he called a Dept of State “cable” which claimed that millions of passport applications were destroyed in the early 80’s when it was decided that they no longer had to be permanently retained - and that was why they “couldn’t find” Obama’s mother’s first passport applications. But they WERE able to find Phil Jacobsen’s mother’s passport applications even though they would supposedly have been destroyed too.
To change a permanent retention requirement there would have to be a paper trail of the change. There is no record of any change; those records are required to be permanent now and according to the records we’ve got always have been. It sure seems like they MADE UP a story about destroying millions of passport applications rather than simply coughing up Obama’s mother’s passport application.
Sadly, the judge in that case, when alerted to possible fraud on the court (a forged cable submitted with a sworn affidavit), ignored that whole issue and ruled that the Passport Office had done a “reasonable search” for records before 1967 by searching the records from 1978 and later.
There are index cards that show the passports that people had - they’re supposed to be microfilmed in alphabetical order and accessible to the public. But the Passport Office has refused to release those even though it should be easy to find.
The part that people need to realize in all this is that there is credible evidence that the actual government agencies are involved in either creating these forgeries or covering them up. That’s the part that really gets me. I came into this issue thinking it didn’t have to be a big conspiracy but got really involved in informing the public when I realized that the bureaucrats are also perps in defrauding the whole country.
That’s what Zullo was talking about (albeit not directly) when he talked about how serious it was that the draft registration application involved the use of a cut-up stamp that was only accessible to the posse because they had the authority of a Sheriff’s office behind them. Mike didn’t come out and say it directly, but that suggests that in order for the forger to get that stamp to use in the forgery they had the help of a law enforcement (or possibly post office?) official.
There is a LOT of information that this report didn’t go into because they wanted to keep the focus on Obama’s documentation problem, but we’re talking about criminal actions by multiple government agencies, to fabricate, “lose”, or cover up Obama’s records. Those of us who have dealt with some of these agencies had the jaw-dropping experience as we realized from their dealings with us that these people are crooks. It’s staggering. And THAT is why this issue will not go away quietly into the night.
