some genetic markers for Stone Age western Europeans simply don’t exist in north- east Asia – but they do in tiny quantities among some north American Indian groups.

LOL Maybe there is hope for the Lumbees...

Good,,,looks like they stole all this from US in the first place: maybe even killed or enslaved the natives!...they can stfu now.

I can hear the huminahuminas now....

Any chance these stones were balast weights from 17th and 18th century shipping?

Solutrean -

Water level was way down back then - due to ice age. So - most of the artifacts of these early visitors - are lost under the ocean.

Where they usually find them on land is far up rivers - which would have led to the ocen - back in the day.

It will eventually be determined that the early European settlers disappeared because of overwhelming pension costs and a below-replacement birthrate.

Well being from Europe they probably tried to implement socialism and they all starved to death. Still on the off chance that the Indians killed them all I think reparations are in order. Kiss those casino profits goodbye.

so the relatives of the Basques may have made it to the US 20 thousand years ago?

Yeah, but my ancestors were still bumming around in the steppes of the Ukraine back then...

more seriously: This was discussed in a documentary a couple years ago. Apparently the knives found resembled the knives in French archeology sites, not those found in Siberia where the Native Americans came from.

There is a lot of rewriting of history with all the archeology going on...check out link (alas, audio only) and link

Articles like this almost make me wish I’d studied molecular archaeology, instead of toxicology. Medical research is interesting, but this kind of stuff is absolutely fascinating.
