CHUCK NORRIS: Why I chose Newt over Santorum
WND.COMMENTARY ^ | : 7 days ago | Chuck Norris

Posted on 02/19/2012 10:12:12 AM PST by PSYCHO-FREEP

In 2008 when my wife, Gena, and I were on the campaign trail backing former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for president, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum was fighting to get former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney elected.

Just three years ago in his interview with radio host and conservative commentator Laura Ingraham, Santorum also emphatically told millions of listening Americans: “If you’re a conservative, if you’re a Republican, there is only one place to go, and that’s Mitt Romney.

Yet Santorum now admits that Romney “bragged he’s even more liberal than Ted Kennedy on social issues.”

And the question that keeps coming to my mind now is this: How can the “alternative to Romney” also be a Romney supporter? (SNIP)

However, in light of the potential global clash outside our country with regimes like Iran and Syria, and the ongoing domestic assault within our country from the Obama administration, we believe America needs the best of the best veterans of political war to lead us forward.

We truly believe Newt’s experience, leadership, knowledge, wisdom, faith and even humility to learn from his failures (personal and public) can return America to her glory days. And he is the best man on the battlefield who is able to outwit, outplay and outlast Obama and his billion-dollar campaign machine.

(SNIP)

It’s no wonder in January that Rep. Ron Paul accused Santorum of having a “very liberal” political record.

I’m also bringing this up now because, if Santorum were to win the nomination, Obama will definitely bring this up in his campaign for the presidency.

And the question that keeps coming back to my mind about Santorum is: How can the “alternative to Romney” also be a Romney supporter?

Lost in all this is that Chuck supported Huckabee.

The other day when Santorum came out and decided that gambling needed to be “restricted” is just a reminder to his brainless supporters, exactly what they can expect.

But in reality, he might win the nomination, but I doubt he can come close to 1144 delegates. And it won't take long, after all the recent revelations about the real Santorum get fully exposed, he will drop like a rock.

I would almost love to see a brokered convention now. It would serve the GOPE right.

Ron Paul sold his soul to the anti-war lefties who’ve moved into the libertarian movement.

He’s also with the druggies who want legalization.

Ron Paul really does believe in smaller government and has since the 1970’s.

But the anti-war and drug legalization views taint Ron Paul.

Sarah Palin and Rand Paul are at the top of my list.

"Chuck Who?/// how much wood, would a wood chuck chuck , if a wood chuck could chuck wood/? ????? More meaningful than what chuck thinks."

Your posts rarely make sense, and this one is no different. Also, are you somehow under the impression that using three thousand question marks helps you make your point?

I think you should go back to the thread where you were defending the guy who cooked and ate cats.

Chuck is slightly moderate and his support of Huck, was from his Christian side. And remember the strong following here for Huck. Which in part is how we got McCain. And we are seeing the very same thing this time.

Stupid is not understanding and supporting private property rights. That was what I was defending. Private property rights is what makes this the country it is and you Peta people want to destroy that. And if you do not know where the old wood chuck would chuck wood came from then you missed a lot of education.

You are correct regarding 2008....

Newt proves time and again he'd be JUST ANOTHER McCAIN! Just what America needs....another reach-across the aisle & cozy up to DUmocrats, run their agenda when they fail to do so, and eventually lose to O-bumbler candidate.

If you think Newt got 20 million from the casino king because he wanted to legalize internet gambling, well......

“Sincerity is everything. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.”

Santorum is beathing Romney and Newt in most polls, so who is really in danger of giving us someone we don’t like?

With all due respect, nobody in this race right now is like John McCain. I may not care for them, but John McCain is as vile as it gets, when fronting for Conservatism.

In a race that John McCain was leading, I would quite easily support Romney against him. All this talk about Santorum backing Romney under those circumstances are wasted on me.

Did Romney set up a C3 Non-Profit with George Soros, Teressa Heinz Kerry, and the Tides Foundation? Did Romney then hire his campaign staff at six figure salaries exposing them to Soros and his ilk? Did Romney single-handedly shut down the MIA issue in the Senate of the United States, shoving it in the face of the MIA families and our Veterans who opposed?

Was Romney involved in this crud? http://www.hotr.us/mccain/mccainagain.html

We aren’t allowed to say one peep around here about Newt excessive dirty laundry, but it’s open season on Santorum.

I’ll say it again. Santorum does have some baggage. At least it’s carry-on size.

That’s only part of it. The R establishment who hate social conservatives also hate them (us) because they are NOT socially conservative! They are pro-fag, wishy washy on abortion, radical sex ed K-12 doesn’t bother ‘em, and so on. They are not actually conservative at all. It’s not merely that they think Real Conservatives lose, because the very opposite is true. They WANT Real Conservatives to lose, and the way to get them to lose is to not let them RUN!

Oh, they are trying every trick in the book to shove their establishment candidate down our throats, no doubt about it. I’m not playing this time. Here in VA, my husband and I will be voting for Ron Paul in the primary to try and deny Romney our delegates.

I cannot believe I will actually be casting a vote for that lunatic Paul, but I have no other choice.

Agree. I’ve never seen anything like this primary season. One debate and the herd flocks to Romney; a primary or caucus happens, and they switch to Santorum, and on and on.

Yeah, will Newt go ahead with his debate now after that Washington Times article came out and will know that there will be questions asked about it ? or will he ( chicken out ) cancel his debate ?

“Newt has way too much baggage to win.” “Santorum is bland and forgettable.” Stop killing our own, folks. Obama is laughing at you guys and gals."

LOL, THIS coming from someone who endlessly trashed Rick Perry during his campaign, and was even doing so yesterday. Really rich.

The fiasco in VA is why I am considering 3rd party. I would say that since Paul is no longer even a remote possibility, by all means, vote for him. I encourage all conservatives to do just that. Perhaps it will get the focus off Santorum even faster.

What ever, it can't hurt and nobody will condemn you for it.
