In 2008 when my wife, Gena, and I were on the campaign trail backing former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for president, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum was fighting to get former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney elected.
Just three years ago in his interview with radio host and conservative commentator Laura Ingraham, Santorum also emphatically told millions of listening Americans: “If you’re a conservative, if you’re a Republican, there is only one place to go, and that’s Mitt Romney.
Yet Santorum now admits that Romney “bragged he’s even more liberal than Ted Kennedy on social issues.”
And the question that keeps coming to my mind now is this: How can the “alternative to Romney” also be a Romney supporter? (SNIP)
However, in light of the potential global clash outside our country with regimes like Iran and Syria, and the ongoing domestic assault within our country from the Obama administration, we believe America needs the best of the best veterans of political war to lead us forward.
We truly believe Newt’s experience, leadership, knowledge, wisdom, faith and even humility to learn from his failures (personal and public) can return America to her glory days. And he is the best man on the battlefield who is able to outwit, outplay and outlast Obama and his billion-dollar campaign machine.

It’s no wonder in January that Rep. Ron Paul accused Santorum of having a “very liberal” political record.
I’m also bringing this up now because, if Santorum were to win the nomination, Obama will definitely bring this up in his campaign for the presidency.
And the question that keeps coming back to my mind about Santorum is: How can the “alternative to Romney” also be a Romney supporter?

I’ll say it again-—the more I read about Santorum, the more he troubles me.
Newt, on the other hand, would crush the boy king.
Santorum reminds me of the sniveling little nerd in school who does underhanded, sneaky things because no one likes him.
Because in 2008, the horrible choices were McCain, Romney or Huckabee.
I could just as easily point out the faults of supporting Huckabee.
This is simply chaos and the end result will wind up a disaster. Santorum will not only lose to Obama, Santorum will turn on those who voted for him the moment he gains power. He certainly will use his power to try to install his narrow social agenda, and perpetuate his love for big government, much like Bush did.
The exact same thing that happened in 2008, a split conservative vote, is happening again. Only trouble is, Santorum is not conservative. He is being designated as one because of his short list of radical, social agenda.

Exactly. I don't want the government, liberal or conservative, to think their purpose is to control everyone's lives according to how they want people to behave in their private lives. That is not the purpose of government.
Rick Santorum is very much linked to what Sarah Palin described as “the machine” in her writings.
Santorum was always the darling of the inside the beltway crowd as the number 3 Republican in Senate leadership.
The insider National Right To Life Committee was a big supporter of Santorum.
The NRL’s longtime General Counsel James Bopp, also a Deputy RNC Chairman, pushes Mitt Romney as a “Pro-Life” candidate.
Is Santorum in this to suck all the conservative air out so Mitt Romney can win in the end?
Will Romney make Rick his Spiro Agnew conservative speech making running mate?
We don’t need a fake Sarah Palin who makes conservative speeches but does the bidding of the GOP Establishment like Santorum has.
True, but at least he/she limits them to one sentence or less and they so pointless, most of us just ignore any post that he/she makes.

It is complete bull$hit to say Santorum isn’t conservative. Likewise for anyone to say Gingrich isn’t conservative.
In 2008, the conservative vote wasn’t split, because there wasn’t a conservative in the race!! This year we have TWO conservatives - both mildly flawed (gee, its too bad Reagan is dead and Rush doesn’t want the pay cut).
Go ahead and post a stupid list of Santorum’s voting record...I’ll then post a picture of Newt and Nancy giving credibility to Global Warming.
