She just couldn’t get the monkey off her back, I guess.
Only 48 and what a voice she once had. Money actually was harm to her. I’m sad because she was good and beautiful and it wasn’t enough.

She may have been a leftie, but I know of a few events where she sang the National Anthem, and IMHO, always did so with respect, dignity and passion.
That's far more than can be said of many other professional "singers"...
