Donald Trump produced a Youtube video from his office indicating that Santorum is over his head running for President after losing his 2006 Pennsylvania Senate Race by 19 points. The Donald has endorsed Romney and he probably finds Newt Gingrich acceptable. However, if Santorum gets the GOP nod, Trump may be signaling to us that he finds Santorum unacceptable and may run on a third party ticket. What do you think?
So, what`s your point? If Noot`s your guy you`d best look at HIS electability. He`d be blown out by double digits, even in his current state of residence of Virginia.
Who gives a rat’s behind what Trump thinks?
well...a.) it was a referendum on Mitt Romney who had about a 30% approval rating when he wisely decided not to run again and b.) you misspelled incompetent in all caps which is kind of funny.
Apparently Trump is forgtting what happened to Myth during his second run at MassGov.
Donald Trump having supported Harry Reid in 2010, Trump thinks Reid is a better qualified candidate, politically bi-polar.
A broken clock is right at least 2 times a day.
He’s right on this one.
He cant win PA - the conservatives here sent him packing.
I wish this orange, bloated, flabby blowhard would GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting breathlessly for Hugh Hefner’s endorsement;)
He admitted he wanted to kill the coal industry in the last election and I think they voted for him anyway. Sick, really sick
PA is special case - In 2006, there was a huge populist movement called “Clean Sweep” - (remember the Midnight Payraise!). Lots of republican vs republican races...unheard of in south central PA! Lots of incumbents thrown out of office.
While this movement targeted the state legislature - the populist outrage spilled over to a few congressmen. I always saw Santorum’s rejection as part of the clean sweep effect (and perhaps a touch of “Bush fatigue”.)
When Trump lost millios, he should have went in nursing home.
LLS
Santorum also lost because he had thrown his support to Arlen Specter rather than Pat Toomey in the previous Senate primary.
Santorum was pressured by the Bush administration to do this, but Toomey was a popular candidate; while Specter was disliked.
Many Republicans therefore refused to pull the lever for Santorum or stayed home in 2006 (I was one) in retalliation.
Not sure that the grudge has dissipated, but I hope it has.
Unless you lived through it here in PA, I don't think you can imagine the level of betrayal Santorum's foot soldiers felt when Santorum endorsed Specter. I know people who worked on both Toomey's and Santorum's previous campaigns who put Bobby Casey yard signs on their front lawns. Obviously, that was a mistake.
We've had to forgive him - much the way Newt's supporters have forgiven him his serial adultery.
And Santorum supporters, please stop PM'ing me that Rick did the right thing. I understand your position. I respectfully disagree. My position is that Toomey would've won in the general if he'd have gotten the party nod. All we wanted Santorum to do was stay out of the primary. If he'd have endorsed Specter in the general only, Rick could've re-won his Senate seat.
Do you suffer from long term memory loss ?
In 2006 ,The Mark Foley October surprise by Brian Ross and Dem party Crew and the fact that Rove brilliant strategy if not fighting all the non stop Iraqi war smears resulted in a massive defeat for the GOP !
It was a huge purge !
Old Newt was driven from office in a scandal !
Newt has never held a state wide office only gerrymandered GOP Sade districts !
Let’s cool it with the AstroTurf B s here !
Trump is full of hot air. He should be as much an issue on this debate as Megan McCain is. They all ought to just but out. The People in these states will decide things, not these windbag talking heads.
You post a lot of lies here !
How did Rick vote for an Obama supreme court appointee named Soldameyer when he was already left Congress in 2006 ?
Keep your AstroTurf straight !
Everytime Trump opens his mouth he becomes less significant. He is a circus clown.
It was the Brian Ross - Mark Foley scandal and the Rove great strategy to not fight the Jay Rockefellar attacks on the Iraqi war !
