It was really nice of you to take the time and effort to create such a wonderful post to me HKMk23.

Your wishing about dreams touches on that True Reality.

I talked about dreams, but in truth, I was seeing/describing my home, as a spirit. I believe that is my natural state.

I seem to be having trouble applying what I know in my heart to my corporal life, and it frustrates me. So, what truth about Jesus’ ballpark am I missing? Help me out here. :-)

...to enter into a super-massively lopsided relationship in which you pony up your mere mortal existence in return for a forever long discovery of....

I think I am in a relationship with my Spirit, who has a relationship with God/Creation/Life. That is what I see as the Trinity. Unfortunately, I don't take it seriously enough, and some days I think my Spirit is disappointed with me.

Many times, I wish I was home, but I can't go home until I have done what I came to do.

I have to ask....
Why do people cry when loved ones die? Shouldn't they feel happy for them that God took them home? As in "well done, rest now'?

Thanks again for your post to me. I feel the love you want to share. Go ahead and be as evangelistic as you want to be.

It won't kill me. ;-)

Why do people cry when loved ones die?

You cry because the person is no longer a part of your daily life, just as you might cry because a friend has moved away, even if she's going to marry a really nice man and live in a great place. The present loss *to you* is still real, even if you are absolutely certain it's the best thing for the person who has left you.

There can be other reasons, as well. I cried when President Reagan died, not because it was bad for him, poor dear, or because we'd been really close friends, but because he represented something that I felt was disappearing. Or you can cry because of sympathy with people who are bereaved, as I do when I attend the funerals of elderly church members. I'm sad because their family members are sad.

This is a difficult conversation, because — figuratively — you want a drink of water, and I have access to Niagara Falls, but no tangible means of communicating that beyond my mere words. Still I'll make an honest attempt...

I was seeing/describing my home, as a spirit. I believe that is my natural state.

I would say that being a spirit is our "native" state; it is the REAL part of what we are "underneath." YHWH is Spirit, and has created each of us in His image; therefore, He has made our spirits the most real part of us, just like Him. Our "natural" state, then, would include our physical bodies; the "natural" part of us; the part that exists in Nature; the natural world; i.e. Creation.

That's hard to be clear about, because the terms "natural" and "nature" can be used in diverse ways, but I think I put it well enough.

So, what truth about Jesus’ ballpark am I missing? Help me out here. :-)

You're in touch with the reality of your existence as a spiritual being, housed (for the time being) in a mortal body. The missing piece — the bit that "turns on the lights" so you can really see — is that you exist in a definite context where "God" really is a Who with a Proper Name. He really is YHWH (Yahweh), not a what, or an it, or some cosmic all.

Acknowledging this context brings the whole ballpark into focus, and enables you to not only take your own spirit seriously, but to take YHWH seriously; to strike up a conversation; to learn that He's NOT mad at you, or disappointed, and to find that He has a "home" for you of a different, and more awesome sort than you'd ever conceived, before. Your spirit need not ever be disappointed with you, again.

You seem EVER SO CLOSE to that "Ah, HA!" when — upon entertaining a different possibility; perhaps one long ago dismissed — you suddenly see things in true perspective; when you realize where you Truly are. You are — if you'll bear with the analogy — like a fly buzzing against the glass of a sliding glass door that stands a few inches open. You see light, you feel warmth from the Sun shining through, you are aware of a draft of fresh air from somewhere nearby, you sense there's a far bigger "there" somewhere, and you perceive that you are close to it. You repeatedly move toward it, only to be rebuffed by the solid glass time, and time again.

Oh, if you only thought to move a foot to the right...!

Like the fly, to find the tantalizing reality you sense; you've got to change something you're thinking, which must be preceded by a change of heart; for the heart first apprehends value in the new thought that was not previously discerned, after which the mind may embrace it.

I assure you; such a change is VERY well worth making.

As the psalmist has written:

One thing have I asked of Yahweh, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Yahweh, and to inquire [of him] in his temple.
— Psalm 27:4
[Emphasis added]

I feel the love you want to share.

Love. OY! I hope so!

It is exactly love that I wish to share, and it is exactly YHWH Who defines what love is. Love is not a quality of His; it is not a characteristic of His; Love is the very ESSENCE of Who YHWH is. LOVE IS YHWH, and if we knew all of the pertinent facts, we would be able to grasp that reality, even amidst the war, famine, pestilence, and disease of the natural world.

That He condescended to set aside His glory, and to confine Himself for 33 years in human flesh; invoking none of the privileges of His Deity in all that time; to become The Way by which we may exist apart from the corruption of sin...THIS is what renders the judgments of YHWH FAVORABLE toward us when He judges against evil in our lives. We are SEPARATE from the sin that may still beset us, so His judgment against that sin is NOT against us, but in our favor; on our behalf. The judgments of YHWH on behalf of His redeemed are motivated by LOVE; by Who He IS.

YHWH is a Warrior for His people.
WOE to all who that mistreat them!

Jesus is a Bridegroom who fights for His Bride.
WOE to all who oppress her!

All of the greatest epics of love find their roots in the burning heart of fiery desire that drives YHWH to win a redeemed people to Himself, and to fight with zeal on their behalf.

Even the horrific turmoil of the last dreadful apocalypse is THE MOST LOVING means by which YHWH will redeem the greatest number of people, by encountering them at the deepest level, without violating their own self-will. He will do it ALL out of a burning heart of desire for fellowship with His people; violently removing and throwing down ALL that hinders Love SO YOU CAN SHARE IT with Him FOREVER.

And can such a Love as this fail to elicit a response??

No. It Cannot.

Nor will He relent until His love wins your heart.
