Campaign Manager’s Cat Killed, Spray-Painted “Liberal”

A cat belonging to 3rd Congressional District candidate Ken Aden’s campaign manager was killed Sunday. The cat’s corpse was spray-painted with the word “liberal.”

Jacob Burris, Aden’s campaign manager since October, said his four children discovered the cat dead on the front porch when the family arrived at their Russellville home Sunday.

Aden said the incident is disgusting.

“This individual must have had a screw loose in the head,” Aden said today. “It’s just wrong, any way you slice it.”

Burris filed an incident report with the Russellville Police Department and has contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Aden said.

Josh McMillan, department public information officer, said officials had no leads or suspect information. If information on a suspect is developed, officers will treat the incident as an animal cruelty case, he said.

“Right now we have no other reports of this happening,” McMillan said, “but we plan to step up patrols in the area to make sure it is an isolated event.”

Aden said he doesn’t intend to the let the incident affect the campaign.

“All across the country, people are fed up with politics, but we have to stay above the fray,” he said.

The 33-year-old Russellville Democrat is running for the seat held by Republican Rep. Steve Womack of Rogers. Womack is seeking re-election.

The general election is Nov. 6.

I was thinking the same. I’ve used cans of spray paint before and you would have a tough time painting the whole word on a cat.

Very easy to cut a stencil from cardboard. However, killing someones pets is beneath contempt. Start checking garbage cans in the neighborhood for discarded paint cans??

Hate to speculate but here in the state I live in when these types of things happen, it usually turns out to be the person reporting it that is involved....you know the noose hanging in the locker room, the keyed slurs in car paint, etc.etc. Those all were ‘perpetrated’ by the person reporting the horror. The reason given ( in each cae)....it was the only way they could bring people’s attention to this type of behavior. How is that for sick???

As usual, we have a bunch of dumb comments about an individual’s political affiliation when it comes to a despicable incident. The POS who did this to a companion animal to make a political point is a sociopath, nothing more, and I don’t care if he/she does have an (R) behind their name.

From the NY Daily News, a paper of record sublimely interested in a dead house cat in Arkansas:

"... The incident shook Burris, who expressed concerns about the safety of his children.

"I knew what we were getting into running in this district, but when you have four children, it makes you feel vulnerable," he told the Daily News. "It's a very red district... you see billboards all over the place with Democratic senators' names and the hammer and sickle on some of them, calling them socialists."

Uh huh.

Interesting choice for a sound-byte: "I knew we bit off more than we can chew running in a district filled to the rim with Republican redneck savages..." --- Sounds quite contrived to me.

Sorry folks, but I've seen too many phony stories about liberals hanging nooses on their own doors, vandalizing their own cars, scribbling backwards swastikas on their faces with ballpoint pens, and many other phony 'hate crime' incidents designed to elicit political support. It's actually fairly common. It works to get headlines and knee-jerk support from outraged netizens, even if the truth is revealed later buried on page A32 in those newspapers nobody reads anymore. Liberals just DO this.

I'm thinking that dad accidentally let the cat get outside and it got smacked by a car or motorcycle. Or he accidentally killed it himself with his own car in his own driveway by turning the engine over where the fan blade killed the cat sleeping out at night under the hood like cats do all the time. Then, rather than fess up to his kids, he scribbled 'LIBERAL' on the side of the cat to score political points against his cat-murdering political opponent.

He's asking us to believe that someone psycho has it out for some political candidate's campaign manager? As if anyone even knows who he is? Please.

Watch this story, I guess. Maybe some shrewd police detective will see something that doesn't add up. Personally, I'd check for bloody cat fur under the hood of this campaign manager's car.
