UNBELIEVABLE?! Newt Loves FDR, Models Himself After Woodrow Wilson and Admires SEIUs Andy Stern Tuesday, Dec 13, 2011 at 3:52 PM EST
ts not as if Newt couldnt have known his past comments were going to eventually be called into question. Hes capably navigated his way through his big government tendencies so far and miraculously still has solid support in the Tea Party. Will the latest damaging clip have any impact? Gingrich is caught praising his favorite president of the 20th century: FDR. Yup, he picked the mother of all progressives ahead of Ronald Reagan.
Watch the video montage below:
Cue sound of heads exploding across the country NOW!
Seriously?! This is unbelievable.
This goes back to what Newt Gingrich said on this program. You got to get things done. Thats akin to saying we all love the Constitution but there are things we got to do, Glenn warned.
FDR did get things done, and then they were ruled unconstitutional, Stu joked.
But thats not the worst thing on the clip at the top of the page Glenn reads a story where Gingrich praised SEIUs Andy Stern in one of his books.
In his book Real Chance: From the World That Fails to the World That Works, Gingrich praises the SEIU head, who remains a close adviser of the President Obama. Pitching the need for conservatives to respect organized labor, while simultaneously pushing back against some of Labors more cherished legislative goals, he wrote the following:
Conservatives cannot cheer unions overseas and then be blindly anti-union here at home. There are legitimate historic reasons for workers to organize together, and there is a strong need for a healthy, competitive, union, movement that helps improve the lives of its members and the competitiveness of our country.

I’ve been listening to Beck. Yesterday, he about fell out of his wide swivel chair after seeing the latest polls showing Gingrich taking the lead in South Carolina. He has been having a conniption lately(seems all the time now) even stating that he has ‘failed his listeners’ to his radio show. I suppose that means he has failed to persuade them on who to vote for in the Republican Primaries.
Beck is an idiot and your purpose in posting this thread may be questioned.
I remembber him being so pro Perry.
Yep.
And Mitt Romney is less divided in his mentors, only one....0bama!
Rick Santorum is the best candidate, Mittens is the worst, and Newt is the only electable decent one still in the running.
Newt gets my vote!
You’re acting like a concern troll. Why do we need to have this stuff recycled on FR? Read what JimRob posted earlier. This garbage needs to be posted elsewhere.
Yeah...Newt’s my man I don’t want to hear about his flaws. Beck’s crazy to get Newt’s old quotes. He probably had a actor mimic his voice. I don’t trust Beck. I certainly don’t believe Newt was kiting checks like the rest of the crooks on the Congressional bank.
It is highly unlikely Newt has a secret life somewhere.
There is a really good chance that Glenn Beck is going to be persona non grata at FR reall soon.

Glenn Beck is a king sized butt hole who’s on the stump for a fellow Mormon.
Well, I didn’t post this, but I read it at other places than on Beck’s site. You can hear it on youtube, as well, if I am correct. And, FYI, Beck is not supporting Romney, and has not been the whole cycle.
Too many are overlooking some real shortcomings of Newt, and I’m not even talking about the character issues prevalent int he media right now. He paints his record with a broad brush that sounds quite wonderful, but he practically had to be dragged screaming and kicking to the measures that were eventually successful, because, by the time he got enough seats to actually win them, he was so into something else and had already forgotten the Contract with America largely. I do remember those days. While I like to watch him debate, it is getting old now to see him say one thing in a debate and quite something else to other venues (groups). He’s not been called out because people love to see him in the debates and are hoping he takes on Obama. Well, if Obama refuses to debate him and runs attack ads all the time, it will hurt Newt. Talking redemption then will make people beg the question: If you can be redeemed, then cannot Bill Clinton, and others?
I’m personally hoping we have a brokered convention, as I don’t see any of these guys being quite what we need to take on Obama.
He did support Perry, briefly, in addition to Santorum and Bachmann. That didn’t last long, though, and he went back to Santorum and Bachmann.
He’s never supported Mitt Romney.
this hit piece by that freaking crazed lunatic Beck was put on his website on December 13 ....why is it being posted here today?
Posting “controversial articles” on FR doesn’t always mean that the poster is trolling nor is he actively (24/7) attacking our favorite candidate(s) in this heated primary season. His posting history would show what’s what. That said, I don’t know the posting history here.
I think you did a damn good job and explains why there is no need for zotting when you present the evidence.
Glenn Beck’s credibility is equal to Chris Matthew’s
...ahhhh, that’s got to be the biggest bonehead comment I’ve seen in a long time. You don’t have to like or agree with Glenn, but his research is excellant and mostly uses the exact words of leftists and progressives. So if you have a problem with the issue take it up with the leftists, not Glenn. He does NOT compare to the idiot Mathews...
ymmv
He’s just telling the truth.
Conservatives are selling their souls.
