A mechanic named Jason "Wolf" Hamlin. They call him "wolf" because he looks like Lon Chaney's Wolfman (I'm guessing).
His father was a guitar builder. He built the "git-fiddle" that Jason brings to the audition. But his dad passed away in January 2010.
He sings a song acapella. Steven wants to hear something else.
Wolf: Can I play my git-fiddle?
Steven: Hell yes!
Wolf plays Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." Impressive. He performs it the way it should be performed, not like that smiling jackass on last year's Idol.
Wolf goes to Hollywood.
And that's the end of the show! 3 minutes till midnight.
Auditions continue in Aspen next Wednesday.
I worry about him on Group night. That will be interesting.
