a BIT more innocent...but I have vivid memories of nights when my brother and I and the neighbor kids were freshly bathed and in our PJ’s...but it was summer...and HOT...and my dad would load us all into the old Ford and take us to DQ for a Dilly bar...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh life was so simple then.......

LOL I never had that problem. My in laws lived FAR away. Hardly ever saw them.

I give the kids I go to school with two pieces of advice-
1- Finish your degree now, so you aren’t my age and back in school.
2- Marry an orphan.
These days, no one would even think twice about you wearing them out, except maybe that nice man with his hands in his pockets, hitching his pants up.

My grandpa used to take us to DQ for Dilly Bars too. I think it was his weakness. He’d buy them by the bags full and put them in the freezer.

Lovely summer memories...what a treat it was when we’d put on our summer pjs after our bath and get to sit outside in the front yard eating a Popsicle before bed. The best was going to the drive-in movies. My dad put some kind of board in the back seat of his Pontiac so we could lie down with our pillows. :)

Sound advice on both parts. We told out son, get that degree now. He’ll have the BS in December, but going for the PhD. He was thinking of waiting in the PhD. I said Nope, you get it now. You get into the real world and time flies and before you know it, you have other commitments and you never get it. Then he found out that the major companies would rather he get the PhD first as well.
But, wouldn’t you just know that he would graduate in Dec, nearly a year early. I bought a shot glass for him with his 2013 graduation date and MSU on it. So I told him about it and asked if he had someone he could give it to. So much surprises! lol
I was going to mention Drive ins, too. And you popped a big brown grocery bag full of buttered popcorn to take along.

My kids were Skyping with their cousin, I was feeling under the weather, but I needed the computer for a minute. I sat down and started banging on the keys, and happened to glance at this scary looking woman with a swollen, red nose, mascara rings under her eyes, and with—what could only be described as—a ginormous brillo pad posing as hair. I was horrified. What on earth??
It was me.
I NEVER want to see that again. EVER.
I liked Scotty last year. I loved the finale because I was happy either way.
