Wow, don’t they ever clean the place?!

It was a locked family bathroom. Probably every time they came by to clean it was “locked” so they thought someone else was in there. Since no other customers were going in or complaining about the bathroom’s tidiness, no one thought anything of it.

Probably change their processes, so that those bathrooms are checked every night now.

That was my first thought too. But I wonder if he was still sitting upright. In which case, the cleaners would have bypassed the stall.

I know. I thought most places have a schedule to clean periodically during the day. A simple knock on the outside would have been good saying, “cleaning” to announce their presence. If no response after several staggered attempts, then maybe somebody with some smarts would have known something was up.
