A little bit of that goes a long way and I think she consciously exaggerates the drawl, too...y'all!!!!

I lived in Virgina for a year. I remember asking my boss, a Professional Civil Engineer....You really learned to say y'all in school? I was flabberghasted that these educated people spoke "backwoods speech". And these southerners were quite rude to New Yorkers.
What was even more interesting was that the blacks that I met spoke proper English and were very kind.

Yeah...She’s a sweet lady no doubt, but I get tired of her making one syllable words like “oil” and “gone” into two.
If she thought she’d get away with it, she’d be using lard in her pie crusts.

She's from Albany, Georgia. I lived there for a year. The drawl in Albany is very, very thick. If anything, Paula has lost some of the Albany accent. :-)
