4 [4 - 5x] = 6x + 4
Rearrange to get X on one side of the equation.
4*4 - 5*4*x = 6x + 4
6x - 5*4*x = 4 - 4*4
(6 - 5*4 ) x = 4 - 4*4
x = 4 - 4*4 / (6 - 5*4 )
x = 4 - 16 / ( 6 - 20 )
x = -12 / ( - 14 )
x = 12 /14
x = 2*2*3 / 2* 7
x = 2*3 / 7
z = 6 /7
My bad. Sign error. Lets try that again.
4 [4 - 5x] = 6x + 4
Rearrange to get X on one side of the equation.
4*4 - 5*4*x = 6x + 4
-6x - 5*4*x = 4 - 4*4
(-6 - 5*4 ) x = 4 - 4*4
x = 4 - 4*4 / (-6 - 5*4 )
x = 4 - 16 / ( -6 - 20 )
x = -12 / ( - 26 )
x = 12 /26
x = 2*2*3 / 2* 13
x = 2*3 / 13
z = 6 /13
Your second line is all messed up.
Re arrange is fine - but you should get -
-6X-5*4*X = 4-4*4
-26X = -12
X= 6/13
