Pretty much everyone who has seen this today shakes their head and wonders. Im wondering too. First, the story which is being serially regurgitated without any thought in media outlets world wide:
Please read this excepted text from the story carefully:
In what is being hailed as the worlds first evidence of inter-species breeding among sharks, a team of marine researchers at the University of Queensland have identified 57 hybrid sharks in waters off Australias east coast.
Ovenden speculated that the two species began mating in response to environmental change, as the hybrid blacktips are able to travel further south to cooler waters than the Australian blacktips. The team is looking into climate change and human fishing, among other potential triggers.
Pretty clear with the headline, right? Theres more examples of this, such as this one from the Business Insider which takes the cake:
Now, read the actual press release from the University of Queensland this story was based on:

fyi
The world will survive in spite of the media insanity and liberalism in general.
Nothing wrong with that logic.
Hmm. Seems the MSM have really screwed the shark with this new BS.
fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads, eat tehm up yum!
Not even a respectable theory; hypothesis, maybe.
The ocean is a big place. New species get discovered every year. Usually it’s because something already ‘known’ was misclassified, or there was a redefinition as to what charactaristics defined a particular species.
New shark? Previously unknown inter-species mating? Let’s not get our panties in a wad over it!
I haven't seen such clear evidence for evolution since the neighbors AKC Pekingese got out while in heat and mated with the Poodle down the street.
Thanx for the ping Ernest_at_the_Beach !
You would expect that the way a fish would respond to undesirable continued water temp changes would be to move to colder or warmer water to their liking.- tom
Good thing Muley/White Tail crosses were well documented long before AGW was even a gleam the Socialists eyes, or that would also be cited as “proof”...and a “reason” to suspend hunting in the range-overlap areas.
Hand all the sharks condoms and tell ‘em to get lost.
Ok, this is no different than the deer in CA. The coastal deer, and most of the deer inland to the Sierras, are blacktail, a close relative of the Mule deer. They are smaller with a different tail than the Mule deer. However, when you get close to the Nevada border you have the two deer mating and making a hybrid, which are called black tail by the locals because they retain the blacktail characteristics but are bigger than the normal blacktail. In fact, they are so much bigger that when you kill a big blacktail in certain areas of CA you are not allowed to enter them into the record books because for all intents and purposes they are NOT black tail and they are NOT Mule deer but a species apart. This does not prove evolution, what it does prove is that similar species can interbreed and given the right circumstances they will.
Is our planet being bombarded with Stupid Rays from outer space or something?
The stupic rays are coming from stupid reporters currying favor with the current propaganda scam of Global warming.
I've never heard anything so stupid in my life as the Global Warming BS. From the very first time I heard that CA had put limits on CO2 emissions in the early '90s I knew it was a scam. At first I thought the radio announcer had misspoken and had meant carbon monoxide that's how stupid the idea was to me.
A shark can adapt to changing climate.
Well! Whoda thunk?
