Tilt the Election Chinese Style in the Year of the Dragon

The Year of the Dragon starts officially on January 23rd of this year (this would be officially the “Water Dragon Year”). The Dragon Year will be very interesting as far as elections are concerned. This will be a particularly wild year, not only uproarious due to the Dragon, but this is the Water Dragon Year and will be like a dragon rise from the sea and riding the waves.

At least, according to superstition, and other such pagan ideas. However …

Chinese War Deity General Kwon Kong (the Red Faced) has a beard and stands nine chi (Chinese approximate to English 1 chi = 1 foot) tall. This is the Deity of War and resides in the Kong Chow Temple in San Francisco, California, USA (founded 1849 AD). If the wife of a Republican candidate for President visits the temple at the San Francisco location, then her husband will win the Presidency of the United States, as according to tradition when the wife of Democratic candidate Harry Truman visited the temple in 1948.

Truman was predicted by the national press to lose the election for Presidency at that time.

This may only be superstition. However, it is American a tradition as apple pie, which may also be a superstition. Whatever the case, be advised to all Republican candidates that if said candidate or their spouse visits or campaigns in the San Francisco Bay Area, perhaps he or she might want to consider a campaign stop to place a visit with the General for the sake of superstition or just plain wanting to feel a little lucky. I would suspect a good Christian would think this idol worship, but just stopping by doesn’t mean you have to kow tow or anything of the sort - think of it as sort of like “pardoning the turkey”, or crossing one’s fingers, and such.

855 Stockton Street, Chinatown, San Francisco, USA

Please note – 2012 is the year of the Dragon. The dragon comes in three colors: Red, White and Green. You might want to wear a tie or ribbon in one of those three colors for Good Luck.

If said candidate is traveling abroad, Kong Temples can be found overseas at the following locations: Tainan Guan Gong Temple, Tainan, Taiwan, founded 1665 AD. Nghia An Hoi Quan Teachew Yian Clan Association, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, founded 1822 AD. Ying Fo Fui Kun Temple, Singapore, founded 1822 AD. Kobe Kantelbyo Temple, Kobe, Japan, founded 1886 AD. Yokohama Kanteibyo Temple, Yokohama, Japan, founded 1862 AD. Chinese Buddhist Temple, Manila, Philippines, founded 1970 AD.

Good luck.

Babies born on the 23rd of Jan will not be considered dragons, they will still be rabbits. Many Chinese who are having children are hoping their babies will be born on or after the 4th to be considered dragons.
