I have warmed up to Santorum recently.
His getting glitter bombed by a fairy the other day was a very good sign.
The problem is that many Conservatives still believe that the republican party is the Conservative party... they are a progressive party because the leadership is 100% USDA approved progressive.

Executive orders can be overridden by a congress with some gonads.......judges can just not be confirmed.....rogue judges can and should be impeached.....bills for the good of the country can be sent to his or her desk, FORCING them to reveal to all of america their true stance on the issues ( remember, socialism must be kept in the dark in order for it to work )....

I can agree w/your post all the way. However, what do we do if Obama succeeds in walking straight over Congress w/executive orders? He’s already talking about doing that! It’s beginning to look like he’s going to ‘rule by decree’ already! What good is it going to be to have a strong conservative Congress, when he does that?
The only 2 in the running now, that I consider to be conservative enough for me are Bachmann and Santorum.
Just can’t get behind the rest of them.
After holding my nose to vote for McLame last time.....it will kill me to vote for another freakin’ RINO.

I thank you for the support of Santorum, the MORAL CONSERVATIVE. You should see some FREEPERS here bashing Santorum. It is stunning. There are some liberal Republicans around here. I can’t believe it. Santorum is 100 percent better than every other candidate and he is getting banged up badly on Free Republic by quite a few liberals.
PS- you’re lucky you didn’t have any spelling violations in your Vanity post. The Spelling Police are always around.

I’m very tired of it. But I also don’t think that 2012 is the election to sit home and sulk. If we were up against any other democrat, yes - it would be the time to go for the 100% pure conservative. But we are talking about Obama here. If given another term he could damage America beyond repair. None of the candidates running on the republican ticket would do the kind of irreparable harm obama is planning. Just look what he’s done to the military. I shudder to think what he will do in a nothing-to-lose second term.

I’ve overcome my reaction to Santorum’s early debate performances. Hey, debate skills are not the measure of a man. He did come off badly at first though. When I listen to what he has to say rather than the delivery,,,he’s got all the right moves. My favorite is Bachmann but I will concede that she probably can’t get the nomination. I really agree with her all the time. I’ve contributed to her campaign since Cain dropped out. Even if she can’t get the nomination, I want to help her spread the conservative TEA Party message.
Let’s pray for a real conservative. Unless you know who gets back in (not gonna happen), Santorum and Bachmann are it. The others? Please. I wouldn’t trust them with my country. They’ll just get us to hell a little slower than the muslim will.

I'm not sure how else to explain Santorum's sudden rise from once at the bottom of the pack, (even behind Huntsman!), to near the top. Is God hearing the prayers of a few righteous men?
We are currently Sodom with a possible Abraham pleading with God to spare the City over the presence of a very few righteous men.
First, define what you mean by “conservative”. I’ve seen so many conflicting statements here that there is NO ONE who would be a “conservative” according to even a plurality of FReepers, let alone a majority.

Right now, the best working definition of conservatism can best be described by what it is not:
If you support "gay rights," you are NOT a conservative. If you support affirmation of homosexuality and all its permutations in any degree whatsoever, you are NOT a conservative.
If you believe in a "living Constitution," you are not a conservative.
If you believe in progressively open-ended gun restrictions, you are NOT a conservative.
I you don't think that human life begins at conception, you are NOT a conservative.
Just a start...
