I STILL believe Rubio regarding this.
I hate romney....cant stomach him.
but compared to what we have in office....he is like a breath of spring.
things change as the options become limited.
I plan to do my damnedest to make sure Romney is NOT the choice....but I have one vote in a state that is not having a primary till mid April...the last few times the primaries meant something...it was pretty much all over by the time my state got to vote.
That said, it will be with strategic honesty that I will vote for him if he is the candidate. I will do this with the full realization that if we continue to get conservative representatives into the Senate/House, we will gain a check on out of control Presidential power.
No matter who wins in November they will have a tough time of things with rising taxes, the start of 0bamacare, and all the crazy new EPA, FDA, USDA, internet regulations to be set in motion. If 0bama wins, it will be his iron-fisted moment on the country.
If a Republican wins...even a slimy RINO...we will have an opportunity to soften, stop, or even repeal the worst of the legislation and with a conservative rise in representation we can stall some things.
If we thought we would right this ship in one or two election cycles we are either very stupid or very naive. The progressivism is deeply rooted into our society and we must work both politically and culturally to oust it.
Other than they are not the conservative/Republican that I (or seemingly you) want, it seems unfair to always put McCain and Romney in the same bucket. While McCain towed the conservative line on a few issues, he was a total waste on other and a backstabber. I’ve never seen a case where Mitt took glee in dumping all over his own party. He had to make some concessions to be elected in MA and he did it. I think his biggest mistake was not moving back to Utah and running there if he really wanted to go on and be president one day. Mitt may not be the ideal or even 3 choices from my ideal (Cain, Perry, Newt then Mitt) but he’s not anywhere the bad medicine that McCain was/is/will be.
BTW, how come nobody seems to push for Jindal anymore? He’s got a great record, 2 big elections, been a part of moving LA from Dem to Rep, and young enough to do two terms. I remember he was widely panned form his response to Obama’s speech but that was a pretty tough spot - with a majority of Americans being all hopey/changey at the time.
I will work and strive against a Romney nomination. As stated on my profile page, a RINO nomination is a vote for snake oil salesman, liars, and cheats.
