She sounds like a great family member..we never get over them, just remember the great things...I have 2 great dogs buried in my side yard. The lab I have now, have had for 12 years, we are taking it a day at a time, blind, deaf and has taken to having her back end collapse...When I lift her up at the hind end, she walks off OK....

I don't think I can live without a dog and at my age couldn't start out with another one...I have told her, nose to nose I have to go first, so she better get strong...so I put her in the hands of St. Francis, patron saint of animals...

I know Newfies are large, that was one huge ball of fluff...I get a picture in my mind of you wheelbarrowing her outside...she knew you loved her, you'd have to to do that for her....:O)

I know what you mean about getting another dog. We lost our last dog on Pearl Harbor Day in 2010. We tried to adopt a shelter dog a few months ago. One hitch: another of our dogs used to bring kittens home. At one point, we had five cats. New dog chased one of the cats. (Didn’t hurt him, just chased him.) Anyway, the cat was so traumatized that we had to give the dog back.
Someday, the Creator will send us a dog. (Always worked before.) :)
