Sorry for the vanity. My son has returned from Left for Hillsdale College 1 1/2 years ago as a conservative and returned as a rabid Paul Supporter. (vanity)I am despondent after debating with him. He is lost.
The problem is not a lack of cognitive ability, but rather a lack of alternative ideas.
Most elementary students understand intuitively things like elementary economics, right vs. wrong, etc. So when given two differing scenarios, they can usually make the correct diagnosis, and will usually choose the correct position.
Fortunately, the Ron Paul campaign has managed to keep RP's position on the military and national defense a closely guarded secret, so people like you will not ever be able to read it.

Go ahead and elect Newt Romney then. You know damn well that Paul isn’t going to be president and that the same old RINOcracy will take advantage of your idiocy. At least you can feel superior while being manipulated. I question whether Ron Paul isn’t in on the game to pull voters away from other conservative candidates to help the same old establishment.
BTW you might want to read up on Jefferson and Tripoli.

Please don’t be so sad. When you’re his age, you spend money unwisely. You look for something big to follow. Kids try new diets, new people, reject their parents’ principles because they belong to their parents. He is in what the Amish call the Rumspringen period. Like other posters said, count your lucky stars he is only libertarian. I voted for Clinton at that age!
Go was referring to your words that if Paul was right about fiscal matters he must be right about everything.
I think I understand you but the Constitution is the main plank of Ron Paul's platform. Is the Constitution crap?
