Sarah Palin Still Politically Viable, Prof. Mark Tatge Tells Christian Science Monitor

Greencastle, Ind. — "Is Palin electable? Absolutely," says Mark Tatge, Eugene S. Pulliam Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism at DePauw University, tells the Christian Science Monitor. Tatge is cited in an article headlined "Sarah Palin speaks, but are Americans heeding her anymore?".

The professor sees Palin as a viable contender to potentially serve as running mate to Newt Gingrich, should he emerge as the GOP nominee. "Such a partnership is not out of the question,” Tatge tells the publication, adding that he believes that Palin would likely need to "atone for quitting the job of governor."

Gloria Goodale writes, "Less-likely candidates, he says, have made it to the top spot. 'Consider the former B-movie actor who was seen as a bit of a lightweight with a messy divorce in his past,' says Professor Tatge, 'and Ronald Reagan not only got elected but went on to become a two-term president.'"(continued)

No, I don't think so ...especially if she's going to play coy as it appears she is doing by raising the issue of her run again. That's pretty poor taste IMO....though she may be asked to serve in Washington I think she'll also decline that offer if given it.

Viable or not, I don’t care. I’m still going to vote for her via “write-in.”

Revenge is formost for you? How about caring about our country and getting Obama out....perhaps you really don't care. A vote for a write in is a vote for Obama.

after seeing Newt operate, I’d vote for him over Palin any day, even if she did run. Newt has proven experience and a breathtaking command of the issues — Palin DID NOT. And believe me, I am one of her most fervent fans — but I’m also a realist........Newt knows the ropes, has been to the circus, has the political instincts. He can SURVIVE in this dog-eat-dog political world. Palin could not.

Exactly....I agree. She has further to go before she can be on par with Newt..or even close to....but I think she's done with political runs....she can make more money doing TV apperances now. ...and that's just the reality of it.

Newt’s doing just fine without Palin at this juncture...and I’d prefer he win on his own merit and not tied to Palin....if he wins let him take his victory lap as his.

She Didn't run because she doesn't want the job" -- wrong. She didn't run because unfortantely, the efforts of ruthless enemies

Doesn't matter how you see it...she said NO. ..and that's the bottom line.

Too many still haven't grasped that NO means NO....or else Palin comes across as a liar.

“Which is more ignorant - judging a candidate by his record, or judging him by what he says in debates?”

So therefore we shouldn’t listen to Newt’s amnesty for wetbacks from the debates? Also, there is not a lot of shining armor in Newt’s record. You have failed to respond to my refutation of your “marginally better” BS. Therefore, a continued discourse with you is fruitless. Focus some of your hatred at Obama, he is the real enemy.

You have failed to respond to my refutation of your “marginally better” BS.

I've responded to your ignorant defense of Mitt Romney over and over again. If you refuse to hear it, that's your problem.

And don't try to shift the focus to Newt. Our little exchange has nothing to do with him.

You defended Mitt Romney, when I said that he'd only be marginally better than Obama as president. Mitt's record completely substantiates my original assertion. Are you going to sit there and claim to me and everyone else here that it doesn't?

I'd challenge you to go ahead and try, but I know you're just going to come back with yet another non-answer, diversion, or dodge. Mitt's record as Massachusetts Governor isn't substantially different from Obama's, so you couldn't prove it if you did try.

And you still haven't answered my initial question regarding that, even though I asked it repeatedly.
