Tim Tebow's Latest Miracle Was His Luckiest One Yet (Insane Luck or Divine intervention?)

Yes, Tim Tebow played great in the fourth quarter of his miracle comeback against the Bears yesterday

But let's not kid ourselves — Tebow and the Broncos got insanely lucky yesterday.

Here's why they won.

Marion Barber choked, twice. All the Bears running back had to do was fall down in bounds on 2nd down with Chicago up 10-7 and the Broncos unable to stop the clock with under two minutes left. If he simply falls over, Tebow gets the ball back deep in his own territory with less than 20 seconds left, and Denver loses.

Then in overtime, the Bears were a play or two away from bringing on Robbie Gould to kick the game-winning field goal, and Barber decides to dangle the ball away from his body and he gets stripped. If he's protecting that ball there rather than trying to bust a touchdown run, Denver loses.

The Bears thought it'd be a great idea to go into the ultra-prevent with five minutes left. The Chicago D was dominant for the first 55 minute of the game. But then they get up 10 points with five minute left, and they decide to play their safeties 30 yards off the ball. This lets Tebow check down to his wide-open running backs all the way down the field.

What is Chicago doing there? They dominated Tebow all game. But when they get a comfortable lead they decide to call off the dogs?

The thin mountain air made Tebow' job easier. The two field goals that won the Broncos the game were 59 yards and 51 yards.

“Tebow led a great fourth quarter 80 yard touchdown drive with seven straight complete passes. If he were a felon dog killer, that’s all they’d be talking about.”

Tebow is getting more than his share of recognition. I’ve seen the endorsement for the sports drink. Costas did a commentary about Tebow at halftime of last night’s game. And Tebow was the lead topic on Mike & Mike this morning. And all of this attention is deserved. However, I wish the emphasis on his religious nature was more positive, and less as if he were some kind of freak.

This is a little much. Barber sees the goal line with no one in his path and his eyes open up. The strip was more of a good play than a bad play by Barber. A few minutes earlier Barber made an incredible catch to keep the drive going.

I actually heard a commentator last nighty say that tebow’s personal values give him a core of principles that helps him lead his team. Now the bronco’s don’t give up. He said even Tebow says God doesn’t care who wins the game. but now the team does.

It’s simple in the end. The game is 60 minutes long (and then some, in case of overtime). if you play for only 55 minutes and haven’t built up an insurmountable lead, then the team playing the full 60 minutes can — and often will — come from behind to make you pay for it.

The Broncos, with Tebow, are playing the full 60, every week. Complacency by the other side has let them back into games they shouldn’t have had a shot in.

All I know is that MY prayers were answered yesterday as The Texans scored a tieing touchdown and the winning extra point with 4 seconds remaining in their game with The Bengals.

Division Champion Texans!

"Do all these pundits think that it was divine intervention when the Patriots were having all those insanely lucky wins on their way to three Super Bowls?"

No, I imagine they think Bellicek's cheating had more to do with it.

I’m tempted to call him ‘Moron’ Barber...but the Bears’ coaching staff is just as complicit in their stupidity.

I think it’s time to give Lovey Smith the boot. There was no reason for the Bears to lose the last two games.

He stands for what is right... and that is rare in today’s time. I admire Tebow. MSM is slamming him and making fun of him. They will be amazed at who has the last word.

And I’m enjoying this.

Gotta love it mainly because Tebow makes liberal Democrats' heads explode.
I'm waiting for their atheist ACLU to sue.

Barber was lucky they got the next play off before they reviewed that catch in the booth.

This was not luck for Denver. It most certainly was not "deeee-vine intervention" (what a small minded diety to waste it's time with something as incredibly stupid as American football.)

It was a classic combination of inept, bumbling, idiotic coaching (standard fare for the bears), and a just plain stupid player.

If luck was involved at all, it was contained within a 59 yard field goal which statistics tell us is - at best - highly unlikely.

With a few minutes left in the game the defense goes into a soft zone prevent formation, and Tebow picks them apart.

Stupidity. Complete supidity

He and the Broncos are going to have to score a lot more than 13 points to beat an angry and motivated Brady led offense. On the bright side (for him, not for me), there is no better defense in the NFL against which to “get well” than New England.

We’ll see how they overcome the 30 points Brady puts on them in the first half, next Sunday.

That’ll be just fine, IF it happens.

The Colts were down 31-3 against the patsies - who were also given a 22 point differential.

Then the 2nd half and it was all Colts, still lost, but only 31-24.
