What Christmas means to Christians..and why.
I agree
There is also this one by, at the time I think shew was 16, Hayley Westenra
Now if you want to get blown away, listen to Jackie Evancho. She's like 11 years old. Simply amazing.
Unfortunately, many of my favorite Christmas recordings have not made it to Youtube. These include "Cradle Song of the Virgin" by Dick Haymes & the Song Spinners (1944), "Last Night I Said a Prayer" by Sammy Kaye & His Orchestra (1941), "Holy Night" by the Victor Salon Orchestra (1925), "When the Tumbleweeds Come Tumbling" by Gene Autry (1938), and "Winter Fell on the Range" by the WGAR Range Riders (1948). The last two aren't really Christmas songs, but neither are "Jingle Bells" nor "Winter Wonderland," which are, nonetheless, accepted as such.
Definitely.
LoL Thanks!
My daughter is going to love that. She is currently into cats.
My husband’s favorite is “little drummer boy” with David Bowie and Bing Crosby.
Good King Wenceslaus, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Adeste Fiedeles, , We Three Kings, The First Noel. My faves.
You may enjoy this version by Nat King Cole.
THAT is hilarious -thanks for the laugh!
“O Holy Night” and “Silent Night”. My grandmother (God rest her soul) used to sing “Silent Night” in German, so that’s my favorite version.
“The Little Drummer Boy” is also a favorite.
If I can include a Santa Claus song, it’d be Elvis’ version of “Here Comes Santa Claus”.
What’s Jonah Goldberg doing in the back row of the choir, far right?

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan’s power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
In Bethlehem, in Israel,
This blessed Babe was born
And laid within a manger
Upon this blessed morn
The which His Mother Mary
Did nothing take in scorn
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
From God our Heavenly Father
A blessed Angel came;
And unto certain Shepherds
Brought tidings of the same:
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by Name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
“Fear not then,” said the Angel,
“Let nothing you affright,
This day is born a Saviour
Of a pure Virgin bright,
To free all those who trust in Him
From Satan’s power and might.”
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
The shepherds at those tidings
Rejoiced much in mind,
And left their flocks a-feeding
In tempest, storm and wind:
And went to Bethlehem straightway
The Son of God to find.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
And when they came to Bethlehem
Where our dear Saviour lay,
They found Him in a manger,
Where oxen feed on hay;
His Mother Mary kneeling down,
Unto the Lord did pray.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
Now to the Lord sing praises,
All you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood
Each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas
All other doth deface.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Little Jackie is amazing...what a beautiful rendition. Thanks for the link.
How funny that you mention Baby it’s cold outside as one of the worst! I happen to love it. It used to never fail to make me smile. Then I read that Ayman Al-Zawahiri (No. 2) was pushed over the edge into Muslim fundamentalism when he was a medical student in the ‘50s in Wisconsin when he saw ‘American women brazenly pushing their breasts and thighs against their male dance partners’ while dancing to a song that alludes to single people fornicating. And now, more than making me smile, it makes me laugh outright.
I agree with you. O Holy Night
Nat King Cole A christmas Song. And of course Bing Crosby White Christmas. I can just Imagine the American Soldier fighting in the fox holes and thinking of home and thinking of that song. Would make any grown man cry and long for home.
