[Music] This is another in the adventures of Americas fabulous freelance insurance investigator, Johnny Dollar, starring Charles Russell. At insurance investigation, Johnny Dollar is only an expert at making out his expense account, hes an absolute genius! [Music] Expense Account: Submitted by Special Investigator Johnny Dollar. To: Home Office, Industrial Insurers Incorporated, Hartford, Connecticut. Attention: Mr. Even Steven, General Manager. The following is an accounting of my expenditures during investigation of small time swindles of big time department stores, or how I played Santa Claus and almost got left holding the sack, or going for a sleigh ride without benefit of snow can be tough sledding. What do you do when the bad guy is really Santa Claus? Ho, ho! Johnny is sent to Manhattan to investigate a peculiar robber who has been hitting many department stores. His modus operandi is to act like a salesman, take people's money, and then scram. In Miller's Store a little girl has taken his picture, and the when the crook tried to take the camera the little girl bit his hand. In his efforts to evade capture we find out that the crook has managed to masquerade as Santa Claus. Finally, he stows himself away in an 8' by 3' packing case - but unfortunately for him the destination of the case was the state prison in Ossining. (Sus.) (CBS) (29:48)

Police Chief ; Sponsor - Fatima, Velvet Pipe Tobacco ; NBC ; Sergeants Friday and Romero are working out of homicide detail organist Laura Barclay has been strangled with a lamp cord. The killer seems to have entered through an unused garbage chute. Martin Eric Swanson was the perp. (27:14)

3/28/53 "Quarter-Horse" Program #49 William Conrad (Matt Dillon), Parley Baer (Chester Proudfoot), Howard McNear (Doc Adams), Georgia Ellis (Kitty Russell), Lawrence Dobkin (Ed Butler), Joe Kearns (Thatcher), Johnny McGovern (Lonnnie Thatcher), Harry Bartell, Lou Krugman ; Director - Norman Macdonnell ; Writer - Norman Macdonnell ; Music Composer/Conductor - Rex Koury ; Announcer - Roy Rowan ; While having some drinks at the Texas Trail, Ed Butler torments old man Thatcher about his new breed of quarter-horse. Thatcher has come up from Missouri just over a year ago with his grandson Lonnie and his new, strange-looking colts. Butler enjoys ribbing the old man saying his stock is "one quarter-horse and three-quarters what else?" Matt buys Kitty and himself a drink from Sam the bartender and they discuss the incident. Fed up with Butler's constant haranguing, Thatcher challenges him to a grudge race, and puts up the deed to his ranch against $4000 of Butler's money. Thatcher insists that Matt hold the stakes. Matt tries to dissuade the old man, but Thatcher insists that his horse might be funny looking and, "He's sleepy and he's quiet, but he can unwind like lightening". At the race, Hank Thomas is going to ride Butler's thorough-bred horse and Thatcher's grandson is going to ride his quarter-horse colt. Chester will fire the starting gun around 2:00 PM. Before the race begins Thatcher is drunk, and he manages to get himself shot. He dies lamenting that he will never know if his horse would win. Chester says that Thatcher tried to draw on Butler first, and got himself killed. Butler insists that the race is forfeit and the Thatcher ranch is now his - but young Lonnie Thatcher insists on racing. Mr. Hightower, the newspaper editor, wants the race to proceed. The quarter-horse colt wins by half a length. (CBS) (29:38)

Mac the mailman has a delivery to make, a package for Souchak. Ferdie takes delivery of the package for the sleeping Souchak. Leopold J. Farnham presents himself at Brooksie's door. He is interested in Souchak. Then a woman is seen calling out Souchak's name at his door. She claims to be Souchak's wife. George pounds on Souchak's door, but there is no answer. His wife gets her key and opens the door. Eric is not there. Later, George and Brooksie find the packageless Ferdie and he has been punched out. Another man from Armored Delivery arrives with a special package, insured for $5000. Souchak answers the imtercom saying he doesn't want to take delivery today. George finds the package in the possession of Mrs. Souchak. Inside is a glass Santa Claus. Ferdie breaks it, thinking it contains something inside that has been smuggled. It is empty. (29:42)

Lewis ; Narrator - William Woodson ; Music Composer/Conductor - Frederick Steiner ; Announcer - Larry Keating ; Sponsor - Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States ; Fred Harper is a struggling but upbeat comedian with a young daughter, Roxie. He is hired by Mr. Caldwell to play Santa Claus for the Caldwell children. When he is picked up by "Caldwell's chauffeur" to go to the job he is knocked out. Whoever took Harper's rented Santa Claus suit did an armed robbery job at the Caldwell's home. When the F.B.I. finds Harper he has two of the stolen pieces of jewelry in his pocket. Roxie says that she saw her father being picked up in a car with a broken tail light. The state police find the car and it contains the Santa Claus suit from the Yale Costume Company along with rubber gloves. They find finger prints of Al Bedford on the gloves. Pete Morrow, Harper's agent, was Bedford's partner. Harper gets out of jail in time to play Santa Claus at Roxie's school - but when he gets there with Special Agent Taylor they find the janitor in the Santa Claus suit, but Fred takes his place because the janitor has no material.
