Rejected Light
December 21, 2011

In the early hours of December 21, 2010, I witnessed an event that last occurred in 1638—a total lunar eclipse on the winter solstice. Slowly the shadow of the earth slipped across the bright full moon and made it appear a dark red. It was a remarkable and beautiful event. Yet it reminded me that while physical darkness is part of God’s created design, spiritual darkness is not.

Scottish pastor Alexander MacLaren said: “Rejected light is the parent of the densest darkness, and the man who, having the light, does not trust it, piles around himself thick clouds of obscurity and gloom.” Jesus described this self-imposed spiritual eclipse of heart and mind when He said, “If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matt. 6:23).

The great invitation of Christmas is to open our hearts to the Savior who came to end our darkness. Jesus said, “While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light. . . . I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness” (John 12:36,46).

The way out of our spiritual night is to walk in the light with Him.

Come to the Light, ’tis shining for thee,
Sweetly the Light has dawned upon me;
Once I was blind, but now I can see—
The Light of the world is Jesus. —Bliss

When we walk in the Light, we won’t stumble in the darkness.

Thanks dear KM, for the prayers and the research.

We found one at GNC 250mcg/dl, but until I know how much I need I can’t even take it. All the foods listed to contain Iodine, are on the bad side of LDL. So I am between the rock and hard place. Because I must watch BOTH. Eggs are the most perfect food source..and are not on my diet because of the measly 181 LDL.

Will be seeing a Endocrinologist after New Year and he/she will know what to do. PC’s are not trained well enough in the Endocrine system to know more than the bare amount of info on how it functions. Where the Specialist will know.

Mean while food might as well be a jar of baby food for lack of taste.

Thank you, Meg. I liked yours too but couldn’t answer at that time. I laid back down a little while. Woke up too early and had to shut my eyes a few minutes. Now I gotta make hay while the sun shines....LOL! Its not shining but I do have a lot to do for the rest of this week. I’m sure everyone does! See you later!

By the way, I searched for some new graphics a while this morning and I get carried away and my time gets away from me. Its addictive, isn’t it?

Looks like another AWOL kinda day. :(

Marissa has a dentist appt this morning.

Yesterday morning, MrJust’s brother fell and broke his hip. The orthopedic surgeon at Veterans’s Hospital is on vacation. This morning they are taking my BIL to a Veterans’s Hospital in the bay area by ambulance. We are not sure whether he will be back in Fresno tonight or not.

My brother had cataract surgery yesterday. I called him last night and he is doing fine. I told him that I probably would not see him until next week.

Just too much to do. I have a couple of FR chores that HAS to be taken care of this week. I really need to do a little house cleaning before Christmas. I will be here when I can.
